It will definitely be interesting to see if he can play as well for KC as he did in NE. They really have a knack for coaching-up guys, trading and getting more prospects to keep their cap low, yet still fielding a winning team year-in-and-year-out. They really remind me of the Cowboys team of yesteryear when Tex, Gil and Tom did this...
63-42 under Lil Bill in 9 seasons. 3 Super Bowls. Only recording 1 losing season in his duration, that being in his first season. The last 8 being winning seasons with 9 the fewest wins they recorded, and that only happening once.
There, definitely, is a model for success. Though the kicker, this model didn't just start with Lil Bill, it was roughly there through 2 coaches prior to him, also.
27-21 through 3 seasons with Carrol. Not one losing season.
31-32 through 4 seasons with Parcells. Only 2 losing seasons.
So that comes to 121-95 in the last 16 years. And only 3 losing seasons to count, equalling the number of coaches they've had. Not too shabby.
What sticks out most with the Pats is not their coaches, because except this last season, those 16 seasons have come off the shoulders of only 2 QBs- Bledsoe and Brady.
Which proves Bill Parcells right based on what he said when he first came here, it all comes down to coaching and how fast you can find a QB. And luckily, one of their very own coaches came here and hopefully found us our QB, starting off a proven, winning-formula, in Dallas, very similar to the one started in NE when Big Bill first went there and brought them Bledsoe.
We have our Romo. We had Parcells (34-30), whom actually did better here in Dallas than he did in NE- minus a Super Bowl appearance, of course. It seems we're in our "Carroll"-stage with Wade, someone continuing to bring us winning seasons even if not too inspiring. Now we just have to wait for our Belichick to take this which we have built over the top.
As of now though, 5 out of the last 6 have been winning seasons for us- through the last 2 coaches. And actually a better pace to start off then the Cheats even did.
So maybe this isn't something new afterall, and the Patriots actually have been someone we're "molding" ourselves after. Making what you said, the comment about them reminding you of our glorified yesteryears, actually wrong. We're similar to them now. Very similar. Almost copycat similar through these first 6 seasons of comparison. And all the way down to the same first coach to start this off for both teams.
