.... Looks like they're getting another Super Bowl.

Because Belichick will reach into his junk drawer, pull out some duct-tape, magic beans, and eye of newt, and use them to craft a defense that stymies his opponents every week.

Meanwhile, Brady will be leading the offense after collecting his latest payout from his deal with the Devil that ensures he'll never age.

Pats have a 40-year old QB and the worst D-line in the NFL. Looks like they're getting another Super Bowl.

You get a like for the "eye of newt" reference

As good an explanation for Brady as anything I have heard.

They could lose their entire draft class for the season to blown ACLs and I'll still bet on them to reach the Superbowl.

Belichick has passed Lombardi, Landry, Walsh, and all the rest in my mind as the greatest coach in NFL history.

My one reason for not calling BB the best of all time is this: who has he gone up against in the same class?

Lombardi and the others coached against great teams and other great coaches.

My opinion is that the last 15 years or so is one of the weakest in the history of the NFL in both coaches and great teams.

BB has dominated; but what has he dominated?

Which is why I say it's Garrett and Rod being TRASH why the defense looks so bad in big games. Coaching! Coach of the year my ***

The "great teams" argument kind of cuts both ways, though. The crazy talent stockpiles you could make through the 90s by just throwing money at guys aren't possible anymore, but the Patriots have dominated the league anyway. Now when teams try to make a "dream team" it blows up in their face like it did for the Eagles.

BB has dominated; but what has he dominated?

Since 2001 we've got Dungy (HOF), Parcells (HOF), Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, Mike Holmgren, Mike Shanahan, John Harbaugh, Pete Carroll. His 2 SB losses were to Tom Coughlin, who is a HOF lock between his 2 rings and how he was able to make the expansion Jags a good team crazy fast.

That's like... 12 Super Bowl rings between those coaches!

Walsh still tops my list, though belichick isn't far behind.

You can argue Walsh was a greater innovator of tactics, while Belichick was more an expert at applying existing tactics with better timing and precision than everyone else.

Both had HOF quarterbacks. That's a wash IMO. It's not like Bill Walsh did much with Steve DeBerg...

Walsh benefited from having his entire career take place before the salary cap (1994) or modern free agency (1992), which made it way easier for teams to stockpile talent to a ridiculous degree. Belichick couldn't just tell Kraft to spend unlimited money so he could build a super team like Walsh could to Ed DeBartolo. Modern NFL franchises simply CAN'T build rosters like 70s Steelers, 80s 49ers or 90s Cowboys.
