I wish I was as optimistic.

seeing a lead in the 4th quarter of every game this year, yet being 2-3 does wonders for removing that optimism.

I'm personally at a point where every good play goes uncelebrated as I watch for the yellow flag graphic to show up and wipe out the clapping all around me anyway.

it just feels like one of those snake bitten seasons where we are left wondering what if. a dangerous team is the nicest thing I can say about us 5 games in.

The Cowboys played very tough and NE feels fortunate to come out of that one with a win. I thought the home winning streak was over, and wasn't confident at all about a TD drive in the last 2 minutes given how hard the yardage was coming the whole 2nd half. Brady was great down the stretch, and Hernandez is really something - they were the difference.

Now having seen Dallas up close, this is a team that will compete for the NFC title in January. You have all the elements and now just need to put it together. In 2001, the Pats' 1st SB year, they started out 0-2 and 1-3 before getting it together and going on a run.

I think Garrett learned a lesson yesterday that you have to be more aggressive offensively with the game on the line against a good team. The offense is what wins and loses games in those situations - Cowboys had 2 great chances to put it away and played too cautiously. I think they won't make that mistake again.

This is a pretty spot on analysis 40yr. We have been discussing it a fair amount since the game ended. It seems that JG has had a few questionable approaches the last few games when Dallas had the advantage. Hopefully he will use the experience to take a different approach next time around.

No the loss would hurt a lot more if it were not New England...I was pretty upset because I hate that franchise but they're a good football team. It's not like we were the Skins dropping the first L against a Lions team that was previously 0-16
