What are the plans for the Dallas Cowboys in the first round? The team covets defensive back Jalen Ramsey, but feels he’ll be gone by the No. 4 pick so they are presently targeting a pair of Ohio State Buckeyes - Joey Bosa or Ezekiel Elliott. With DeMarcus Lawrence coming off back surgery and Randy Gregory suspended the first month of the season, Bosa fits the need at defensive end while Elliott brings a major upgrade to the running back position. I’m told Dallas would consider trading down, but wants to stay ahead of the 10th selection, presently owned by the New York Giants.

There is some news. Trading down a couple of spots wouldn't surprise me at all.

About the only team they could deal down with would be SF. But I don't see why they would move past Baltimore or Jacksonville.

If they trade down, it is out of the top ten. That would be a silly move unless someone gives up the farm. Just stay put.

So what's the thinking? The Cowboys leaked this info to some internet scout so he can tell the masses?

Psst.....We really want Ramsey but he won't be there so it's either Bosa or Elliott but we would rather trade down for Elliott but not past 9. Go...and tell the others.

I'm convinced people put stock into these reports simply for the entertainment value and not because there's a real rational reason to believe any of it is true.

I'm with risen star on this one. Fun little read, but this is all "insider" info that could be put together by reading the mock drafts on this board.

Agreed. Seems pretty lazy for a sportswriter to even put this out as some kind of inside info.

The only way it's legitimate is if you believe there's a leak inside of valley ranch. Inside of those draft meetings. I just do not believe that. It's what Pauline thinks and he packages it as an inside scoop. Most fans lap it up eagerly.

Dont think them liking these three players is hard to figure out. I would have guessed the same. I just hope one of them is comfy taking snaps under center week 3.

We will look back at this offseason with great regret. For me, probably the worst we've seen since Jimmy left.

I agree. If you've ever worked for a company that deals in confidential information, unless there's a security issue or a health danger, it would be easier pulling teeth from a crocodile while under water than it would be to get information from scouts and coaches whose jobs are on the line based on who they select.

I love reading the speculation, but I put absolutely no stock in the reports this far away from the draft.

If we do pick one of them, lets hope they turn out better than the last Buckeye we took in the first round.

100 percent agree. No way this was leaked. Unless it was leaked purposely. I do want Elliott though.
