So a buddy of mine at work and I had a bet before the season about who would finish higher in the division...Dallas or Philly. I lost quite obviously.

As part of my penance, I had agreed to watch the entirety of Downton Abbey. I've been putting it off.

I have a somewhat painful admission. It's actually pretty good. The grandma is hilarious. Not quite sure what this says about me. Thanks, Jerry.

Next year, I do say I will more carefully pontificate on the recourse of my speculation, and derive a more suitable construct upon the prospects of a worthy campaign for the local chaps.

That's the Downton talking.

lol...i never make a DC bet unless im 90%+ sure of the outcome. Last time i did, my buddy had to rock a profile and cover photo on his facebook of my choosing...Texans fan. He rocked The tripletts and the dallas star for a month lol.

Yeah I have had the profile pic change bet with a few people. Ironically it was for 2 of the 4 wins this year. Fins and the first Giants game. So far so good.

I lost a bet, me and a friend went to the Dallas vs Pigeons on Thanksgiving and loser wore the others jersey and a pik on Facebook for a month. Called and called to let him know I was at Walmart where we said we'd meet after the game lol he ended up calling me he was stuck already in traffic to save it for a next time. Let me just say he lost his chance lol there was no next time.

So you were wrong, erod?

"I wouldn't know. I'm not familiar with the sensation." -- Granny, Downtown Abbey :p

Yes, I watched every episode.

I've been thinking we need a sticky in one of the forums just for sig bets. There are a few hidden in the draft zone right now. I think it's hilarious and adds some random humor and life to the forums.

As for Downtown Abby, I can't stomach English TV, other then The Fall. There is just something about all the smugness and the way the shows are shot. When Hulu was first rising to prominence a large swath of their content was English, used to drive me insane to read a cool synopsis and realize it was made by those blokes across the pond.

I considered that carefully, but I'm out now, and can't take it back.

It's a fairly charming show, though. Just a little slow paced. Peaky Blinders is another good one nobody talks about, and that one's geared toward men.

Peaky Blinders is fantastic television. It also has one of the best soundtracks you'll ever hear.

Add this to The Fall as one of the very few British shows I can stomach.

Did you just use the word, "charming?" Splendid!

Peaky Blinders is fantastic. Loved that series. Turn is good, too.

Really liking Better Call Saul, but anybody who watched Breaking Bad would.

i watched the first four years in about 2 months. I am going to miss that series. The last two episodes of this year were as good as they can be. Hopefully when I lose a bet, I can be punished by watching an epic series like Downton.

OH wow I will absolutely second Peaky Blinders being fantastic TV. Show is great! can't wait for next season.

As for Downton. It's really not bad. It's not my type of show, but I've watched a lot of it with the fiance and I never really think negatively of what I'm seeing. Characters/Story/Dialogue are solid, and that's what the show is all about.

I learned many years ago to leave the Cowboys out of my betting habits. I paid dearly for betting on the 1994 NFC title game. The memory still haunts me. The horror.
