I not only agree with you but think had It not been for JG winnings games down the stretch to be in playoff contention last year, Payton would be our coach this year.

Even if Payton was head coach here, do you think things would be different? It's not like he would have complete control like he does in NO. And hindsight is always 20/20. I remember when he was here, a lot of people criticizing him and his offense.

How was he supposed to keep him? He got offered a head coaching position with the Saints. Was he supposed to turn that down to stay on as the coordinator for Dallas under Parcells in 2006?

Sorry -- too hypothetical for me.

I believe JG is one in the bottom 5-7 coaches in the NFL. IMHO, the team would have been better when any number of different coaches -- pick any in the top 20 or so.
