There's bias. It's just a reflection of the Cowboys being the most hated team in the NFL. Having 3 teams with us as their most hated rival, all in major media markets is part of it. This, along with our large fanbase, is why the Cowboys are the marquee team in the league. Just comes with the territory. Embrace the hate.

That said, there's also more favorable articles of us when we are winning. So really, there's bias in both directions.

As far as bias outside of coverage, there's some in officiating. Nothing egregeous, they a human and there's more pressure calling most Cowboys games and they try to call more tacky things so they don't miss a call. There's definite HOF bias, but that is a direct reflection of the media bias.

I believe there is more anti-Cowboys bias than there should be in all the media, except for NFL Network, save for a couple of personalities like Woodson.

However, I do believe we landed on the moon with every fiber of my being.

There had to be a second shooter on the grassy knoll! Back, and to the left.

And I'm not convinced that 9/11 was a government conspiracy, but I am open to the possibility.

I guess I needed to clarify the specific type of bias that I was addressing.

I agree 110% that reporting the Cowboys in a negative light IS good for business and thus DOES happen. That is a true bias that I'm sure exists.

The bias I was referring to was... those who gripe about the Boys not getting as much coverage as other teams or (the recent one) about how the Madden game doesn't adjust the Cowboys' skill/rating the way it does others. These are the biases that I was saying do not exist on the level that some here would have you believe. It goes against what is good for their respective business... which is... negative or positive, cover the crap out of Dallas and keep the fans and haters watching/playing our game.

Sure. Many people are biased against a team they despise just as they are biased for a team they love.
But a bias against a sports team that happens to be one of the most popular and recognizable sports teams in the world is not good for business, in a major media outlet, when your business is sports. (ie: Madden videogame, NFL Network, ESPN, etc.)

That would be like not serving soda in a restaurant you own because you don't like soda. It's just not conducive to being successful in your business.

ever hear of a team in NY called the Yankees, i think they play baseball.

I hate baseball, never watch it, do not follow it at all, just boring.... but when I saw how successful and big they are, I am already biased just for that. Why do you think the Cowboys are any different?

If you were a reporter now, do you think you would give the Commanders the same attitude and spotlight you would give everyone else? be honest....

answering yes to that would be obvious BS... so it is obvious there is a bias against the Cowboys but the good thing is the Cowboys play the game on the field not in the press.

EDIT: I just read your last post just before this one, I misread what you mean and do agree with you.

Better backpedal: Spectre in this thread or Anthony Henry with a knee injury?

If I were a professional reporter that gets paid to be a reporter, I believe in upholding the ethics and professionalism of being a journalist.

I've had chances to 'pimp' myself and my philosphies on a different subject, but refuse to do so because those things mean a lot to me.

My major gripe against BSPN is the careless way they report things, hardly ever checking facts and basically acting like a clown to get their face on camera. For starters, it does a great disservice to the viewers/readers. It also can be very harmful to the people they cover and their personal and professional life. Again, if it's a damning report that's accurate, I don't have a problem with that. But the innacuracy really kills me and the lack of accountability for that inaccuracy is even worse.

But the people I really feel sorry for are other members of the media who verify the accuracy of their stories and sources, who keep their professionalism and ethics, who ask for both sides of the story and basically do things the right way and yet never reap the rewards, be it financially or professionally, like the clowns/ho's/puppets over that that station in Bristol.

It pains me to think that guys like Todd Archer and Albert Breer get unfortunately lumped into the category of 'mediot' because of hacks like Werder, Skippy, Mosely, JFE, etc.
