Strange...There is no mention of this on WashingtonPost.com If the Post reported it, I would think they would have it on their website. There is no mention of it on their lastest news link. All I could find is this:

Coach Joe's Press Conference
Been on the phone for about two hours since the end of Joe Gibbs's press conference.

People inside the organization were definitely thrown off by his noncommittal stance, but no one has seen any indication that he will actually leave.
Everyone I've spoken to thinks this is a bit of a negotiating process, and Joe doesn't want to say much until he gets something worked out with Daniel Snyder on an extension -- assuming they do get it worked out.
I believe they will. They will have to work out extension for the coaching staff as well if Gibbs gets one, and also address the scouts. They've done this before in short order -- 2005 -- and could well do it again.

The part about not committing to Jason Campbell was stunning to a lot of people in the organization who believe it will be a huge factor with Jason. "If I was Jason's agent, I'd be thinking about asking for a trade," one veteran said. Left some messages for Jason and have not heard back from him yet.

Perhaps if/when Gibbs does return as coach, he will speak more directly about the quarterback situation.
Maybe this all gets sorted out in the next 48 hours. My guess is Gibbs will get a salary bump next season and a two-year extension at about $7 million a year. Just my hunch for now based on all the calls I have made

Extremskin members are going to blow a gaskett next year, most of them were ready to kidnapp Gibbs, and hide him in peru for 5 or 6 years until people gave up on looking for him.

Getting out played by a 36 year old starting for the first time in 10 years doesn't bode well.

I can't see them giving the job to Todd, but it does stir up a little controversy and puts a little doubt in Jason's mind, not to mention that of his teammates.

I like it. :D

It's kinda like Garcia outplaying McNabb last year. I wonder if Collins gets dumped to protect Campbell's ego like the Iggles tried to protect McNabb's.

That's a good comparison, but I doubt it.

Collins is Saunders boy and they are going to have to dump Brunell.
Plus, Campbell hasn't been the "franchise" like Donovan has been in Philly.

Great News for us!, I wonder which 35 year old career backup they'll have starting for them next year?, remember the Skins fans telling us that Campbell had more of a future then Romo, now it looks like gibbs doesn't believe in him.

It's really unfortunate for Cowboys fans that Collins played so well, because he really exposed how far Campbell has to go to be successful in their offense.

Campbell has all the physical advantages you could want over Collins, and Collins was able to do more with less.

I, for one, would have loved to see them continue with Campbell in blind faith. Now they'll expect a lot more from him.

I live in northern virginia and a Commanders fan told me that the only shot the Commanders had at a Superbowl were with Collins under center next year. And this man was DEAD serious. :lmao2:
