Haven't heard that name in a while. I remember when he ran for 420 yards in a game in high school.

Honestly, I gave and still give him a ton of crap. But I havent heard anything since his injury really.

Hey what's your 40 time?

Any day in particular? 7.53

When a contract is immediately involved? I'm sure I can do some things and get myself to a 6.97.
I do have to use a cane, after all.

My argument is that I'm generally 3 seconds ahead of the play so I don't need to run fast.
Most staffs ask me how I handle a 2 second play. I'm there 1 second before the snap- duh.
This usually doesn't fly. Hence my not being drafted, or signed as an UDFA. I still maintain hope though...

I would hope that every back in this group would be gaining a huge chip on their shoulders based on all the media and fans pooping on them. Lol!
In fact if I were Garrett, I would stay in conversation and if I could not detect a huge desire to prove naysayers wrong, it would help me decide who to keep or not keep. While there may not be many upgrades available out there, there should be atleast a few lateral moves we could make.

Well I was on the phone with Steve and Jerry and I think I will be able to get you a tryout at RB. Right before the tryout you need to drink a pint of hard stuff, this will relax you and help the pain that will be coming. I will get back with you on the details. Your Agent aka Road Agent

That was taken in realtime. I just did 200 of those... poor sparring partner.

I'm inclined to believe we should probably get healthy youngster(s) at RB rather than the walking wounded that are presently the case with half of our RBs. Of course there's no need to panic as yet but if the dings and the hurts continue, the staff may very well be obliged to take corrective action. I would only hope they don't wait too long for the pickings to be worthwhile when the need arises.

Ray Rice is on the back burner emergency speed dial list as a last resort if we get desperate down the road...

I still highly doubt this. Not because of the off the field stuff, but because of how bad he looked in 2013.

He had 9 broken tackles with 214 carries, 9! The dude looked awful.

The one thing I dread almost as much as the running game failing is the I-told-you-so mediots coming out in force to crucify the Cowboys for not making more of an effort to keep Demarco or at least reach for talent in the draft.

I hate that the Cowboys didn't do more to address the position, but it's not like they had much of a choice. They could either over-pay for Demarco mortgaging their future or reach for running back in the draft that they did not view as an upgrade over what they already have while simultaneously not addressing the woes on defense. So I get how the Cowboys got in this position and can hardly blame them...just hoping they know something we and the rest of the world doesn't.

Good summary of a reasonable take on the situation. Now pipe down and pick up that pitchfork.

I would look at udfa's from last year that did not make teams.
With our line you just need a injury free guy with good speed.
Many udfa's have ability , but dont really get a fair shot at making a team.
May teams have the RB's they want, and brng in udfa just for camp then cut them.

Beasely could easily be out of football right now, had he signed with another team, so there are RB's out there
that might be good with our team.
They would also be more motivated than guys like McF, who I think jerry will waste a roster spot on regardless.
I like williams , but he has the bad knee which isnt going to hold up once he starts getting hit.

Most name guys are going to have injury issues, poor motivation, and other issues.

Find guys who are young healthy and motivated, and give them a shot.

Not trying to start a Murray vs. RBs thread, because I'm tired of those. I'm strictly looking at one of the things already cropping up that is a concern with some in this group: injuries.

At least Randle hasn't struggled with injuries since he's been here, so that's a good thing. The situations with McFadden and Williams might not mean anything, but with their injury histories, it certainly bears watching.

If we're going to do the RB-by-committee thing, we need to make sure we have a reliable committee. Hopefully these guys can prove to be that instead of always fighting nagging injuries. Not saying the sky is falling. It's just OTAs, so there's plenty of time for them to get healthy before the season ... it would just be nice to see neither player being sidelined for any period of time by injury, so we can get a good look at which players we can rely on.

i like to do the odd and unusual and panic when necessary. not because it *may* be necessary 2 months from now.

some people like to get their panic in early.

He did get injured last year. Broke his hand and sucked for 3 or 4 games before getting better.
You're right. The site lists the injury for 2014 at the bottom of Murray's page in its Full Injury History section. I referred to the Full Injury History section in my original post, stating:
EDIT: Full up-to-date injury list at the bottom of the page. Nice.
The site has updated his page with "PHI" indicating Murray's current team but has not made a prediction for him concerning 2015. I highlighted (e.g. made bold) the reference to 2014 prediction in gimmesix's post and said I was wary of its content maintenance because the 2014 season is history at this point and the actual prediction is outdated. It is now time for the webmaster to update the page's content (e.g. prediction) for 2015.
