On the Cards side they must find a running game. Good luck especially against this Dallas defense that has played consistently well run stuffing game in and out. The Cards OL is just plain below average.
No run game forces Leinart to pass to move the ball. Good news is both of their premier WRs will be on the field. Bad news is Leinart hasn't quite figured out how to throw more TDs than INTs. The game will hinge on the Cards ability to move the ball via the pass and make big plays against a good Dallas secondary which still gives up too many big plays and fails to stop teams on critical drives. The Dallas defense needs to convert INTs to real INTs. They drop too many sure INTs.
The Cards defense is better than most people think but they too haven't learned how to stop people at critical times; like when they have two TD leads in the four quarter. They are even better than Dallas at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
On the Dallas side the game can be reduced down to four things. First stop the stupid mental mistakes that stop Dallas from driving the ball at will. Second the OL needs to play near their top game which is good enough to beat the Cards. Third can TO actually be a playmaker? Can he actually catch the ball? Can one young WR step up to allow Romo to spread the ball around which is actually fairly critical to giving Romo a little more time to find open WRs and improvise. And lastly they must stop turning the ball over. The last is simply the game breaker in all reality.
Defensively they must stop giving up big plays. Who would have thought that would be such a big component in the NFL this year.
And don't forget STs. Turnovers and STs. Blocking and tackling.
It's not hard.
