If you don’t think Jimmy Johnson tanked to get Troy Aikman, you are very very very naive.
nah he picked 2 qbs that draft and same fickle fans were debating who was better ie qb controversy aikmans fort 2 seasons..JJ took over a pile of poo, they were bad and actually if it had not been for the stupidity of MN and the walker trade we dont become the dynasty we did with hired FA like Dion and charles haley..had nothing to do with tanking..

so thats the plan the browns sucked for 15 years and had 100s of first round picks, 4-5 HCs 2-3 gms and a new owner all the while and they are not out of chit..one decent year that hasn't ended yet and they arrived?

that BS thats no plan it took them more then decade of tanking to have it work..nah they just sucked and finally got lucky,.thats not plan..we saw the jags have that one good season, what happened? gone as fast as it came..

tanker will not win this debate theres no full proof blueprint that says it works..
They didn’t lose because they had high picks. Lol. They lost because they had no coaching and no direction.

About 4 or 5 years ago they got a draft strategy together (moneyball style) and started accumulating picks and players. They acquired talent.

Now they are a fairly talented team that has a basis for future success.

Troy Aikman was drafted in April 1989.

Jimmy Johnson's first year as Dallas' head coach was the 1989 season.

Again.

How did Jimmy Johnson tank to draft Troy Aikman?
TY and Jimmy wanted troy so bad he drafted that their QB in the supplemental draft

Jimmy Johnson was the ultimate tanker. He cut good players that he traded for to get draft picks instead. He wanted the picks, not the players.

He knew the team would be bad in the short run, but in the longer term we got 3 SBs out of it.

they were NOT tanking just BAD for 15years sorry fail in using the browns as blueprint to have our fans want to come to the tank side aka the darkside..

NO!!..

ironic garett and jerry are supposed to suck so no plan no direction and np coaching yet we never came anywhere close to being the bad new bears

again you using this one season that hasn't finished to show us the Browns have turned things around..i laugh at that..they've been so bad that one double digit season and fans think they have arrived..

I think to think otherwise is pure folly. How do you figure, my friend?
By the reaction of the staff and front office when they lose - they're depleted. And today, when they won they were beyond thrilled. They're not benching healthy players and there are plenty of young guys who they use very rarely if at all.
