Peterman thought

I have been amused at the Peterman bust buzz. Last night I was trying to go to sleep when I had a some insight into the mind of Bill Parcells. Parcells has commented that Peterman's only problem is that he is not versatile. Well I find that hard to believe; he may not be able to play tackle, but surely he could play RG. So when I think about Larry Allen being a possible cap casualty and his declining play (some my argue that he still dominates defenders, and he does but not consistantly enough to make up for the mistakes) I had a comforting thought. It hit me like a bolt of lightning Parcells wants Peterman to get all his reps at LG in practice because he is going to replace LA soon possibly even this year. Peterman a bust because he has not played, ha, he has been getting reps at LG waiting for the situation to present itself when LA can be let go without controversy. I thought Peterman looked pretty good in preseason; so expect him to be in the running for starting LG next year.

That is my gut feel.

i don't think Parcells likes Allen. Allen is always getting winded during game time. I think he signed Rivera with the intention of letting Allen go, but Rivera got hurt and was never the same. Your right next year Peterman will start.

Noway he fills LAs shoes this year or probably even scratch the surface of Larrys career. I'm not sure what you are watching when you say declining play from Larry Allen, all OLinmen make mistakes. Larry dominates the player(s) in front of him most Sundays, other times he may have a mediocre performance but he NEVER gets dominated. Methinks if Peterman could play Center he would be starting, afterall Center is really where the problem is on the interior line not Gaurd.

I agree with you. I think that's exactly the reason Peterman's position is LG... Because Parcells is preparing for Allen's possible departure. The two did make up somewhat last year, but it's pretty obvious that there was some friction between LA and Parcells, and we all know how much money LA makes.

I mean, it's not like the team would plan on paying Rivera a ton just to bench him a year later. That's why I think this idea makes sense.

i think after the debackle on the oline last year there is no way he cuts la, and replces him with a guy who has only been active for 1 game and never plays. we will see in camp what petterman has but i don't see anyway we start cutting players on the oline when it saves very little money (3.5 mil) and leaves you with the same situation as last year

I'll be SHOCKED if LA is released so Peterman can step in. More likely Peterman is given bus fare than LA.

In the perfect world, that is what would happen, cut LA and his big pay check and move the lower paid younger Peterman in. I can't believe that BP would bring a guy in that did not play that much in 2 years in to replace the one player that played the best on the O-Line last year.

Its funny because all I heard in training camp was how dominant Peterman was looking, and then the guy suddenly turned into a bust within a matter of months. I'm curious how exactly that drastic of a change happened.

Far be it from some of the instant evaluators to be a tad premature in hitting the "bust" button. Right Bradie James?

Major needs are Offensive Tackle, Kicker, ILB, OLB and FS. Peterman may be the eventual replacement. But I sure hope Bill and Jerry focus on positions that aren't filled by Hall of Famer, ROH guys who still play at a high level.

No, that couldn't possibly be it. It's just eaiser to say that he's a bust.

That is the problem with being responsible. You have to go to bed at a decent hour to have a productive day at work, and not stay up watching dumb programs on direct tv. :pc:
