NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops said Tuesday that true freshman Adrian Peterson will start at running back this Saturday when the Sooners host Texas Tech. Peterson ranks ninth nationally with 133.3 yards per game (6.2 per carry).

Peterson is the first freshman in Oklahoma history to rush for 100 yards in each of his first three game games. One other Sooner reached 100 yards in his first three games. That was quarterback Steve Davis, a sophomore at the time, who achieved the feat in the first three games of 1974.

I can hardly wait for Saturday ! The game is on FSN so I might get to watch Peterson Run. This will be the first time for me to see him play. I've watched his stats in the Tyler newspapers for several years now.

Bingo!!! After reading his crybaby interview about how he was "ignored" by Texas, and how "poorly they treated him" because they didn't treat him any differently than any other potential recuit, my first reaction was "SEE YA!"

Every whoren in Texas wanted AD in Austin. Mack Brown however didnt make the personal touch tho. Sure he sent a couple of guys and he even made a call or two. Stoops however was at games and calling and visiting the family. Oklahoma is what it is. Recruits want to come to OU. This even tho they have grown up huge fans of other teams their whole lives. AD said once that he loves UT but he wanted to be the best he could be as a football player. He chose OU because thats all they do. Make football players....i.e. Roy Williams..Tommie Harris...Quinton Griffin...Tony Casillas..Derrick Strait...Rocky Calmus...

I have to say OU has Stoops to thank for all of this. They are very fortunate to have him as its head coach. The talent they have recruited is spooky. Texas has at least 4 more years of of nail biting, worrying to look forward to. Some freakin crazy talent coming out of OU this year, next, year after. I think you get the point. It does not get any easier in the future for UT.

I by no means think he's not "a" talent, but the "#1 recruit in the nation" moniker has been hung on enough players that don't live up to expectations, that I'll understandably take the Mizzo attitude, and say, show me!

If he doesn't/didn't wanna stay in the state he was brought up in and ply his talents, that’s his cross to bear. But DON'T try to con anybody w/ the BS excuse about how mistreated he was by the two MAJOR programs in the state (UT and A&M) who UNDOUBTEDLY kissed his azz excessively, just like they do ANY highly touted prospect.
