When Ebenezer Ekuban handles you all day long, you KNOW you suck.

Petitti is nothing more then a solid backup at this point. We need a RT that we don't have to baby all game long. Tired of our offense being held back by that loser.

When he's not committing penalties, he's letting guys go free. Tucker, same thing, but at least he's doing a little better then Petitti and he's normally a BACKUP.

I hope Columbo gets healthy REAL fast. We need someone with talent over there.

Courtney Brown was actually lined up on him alot too. Pettiti had a bad day. He still is a rookie and should be a backup right now, but he isnt. I would have been perfectly fine if we signed Gragg or McKenzie in the offseason instead of Rivera. But Rogers got hurt and so on. I expect a big overhaul this offseason with Gurode, Rogers and possibly Rivera being let go. We will focus on Oline in the draft and hopefully fire Tony Sparano because we need a new Oline coach too.

I think we do need some better competition next year. but I also think Petitti needs a year in the weight room. Hes jsut not ready yet physically for some of the guys he goes up against.

Rivera is going NOWHERE. He has been the most consistent lineman we have. He hasn't played BAD this year. He just hasn't been exceptional.

Rogers is a given. He's gone.

Petitti isn't having problems with DEs running over him so strength isn't an issue. He's not athletic enough and sometimes (often) he completely misses his man, lets him run by unblocked cuz he doesn't know *** he's supposed to do.

I think when Flozell was around, the offensive line was good enough to get by and protect Bledsoe so that we could go three receivers deep more often, but too many injuries, rookies and aging vets now to worry about. Even Julius looked better then. I remember when people were writing that we wouldn't miss Flozell at all. That's always good for a laugh. LOL Parcells defended himself against injuries at running back and receiver this year but he wasn't prepared to lose both his starting offensive tackles. Oh well, bleep happens.

Dude, he's young and is going to make mistakes and get beat. But if he does what he is supposed to do, he's a solid starter and maybe Pro Bowler for the next 10 years.

Hopefully, when you have a bad day at work, they don't scream "You Suck!!!" out in the parking lot as you leave to go home.

LOL...If I just didnt delete the game on my Tivo trying to open it I would have told you the plays where Rivera either held, let Mike Myers/Warren run right past him and totally wiff on a pull to let Julius/Barber get tackled in the backfield. Rivera is supposed to know what he is doing and who gave up the sack and the 3rd down? Rivera. Im not saying When you pay that money for a Olineman he should be exceptional. I would want to take the cap hit and go out there and draft a OG because it seems like FA Olineman are a crapshoot.
I still place part of the blame on Tony Sparano b/c he makes the blocking schemes and we dont execute them consistantly, the only positive yards we get are off of pure ability from Barber/Julius.

Flozell is/was the last lineman we'd want to lose.

Our passing game was good before Adams went down. Imagine how good it would be if we didn't have to protect Petitti so often. Now it's suffering cuz hwe have to protect Tucker AND Petitti.

Time for those kids to cowboy up and get their freakin' jobs done w/o having to be babied so often.

Pro Bowler? ***? Have you been watching the same games I've been watching? Probowler? OMFG!

And don't give me that "Bad day at work" BS. He's had SEVERAL bad days at work, and he's only gonna get 16 days of work overall (not counting the playoffs). SO when you only "Work" 16 days, yoU BETTER not have many "Bad days".

Seriously some of you kiss that losers arse just cuz his daddy posts here. Be a man and tell it like it is. Or learn the f'in game, one or the other.

You need to get your eyes checked, Son. Rivera was fine. Petitti blew all game long.

I didnt say Pettiti was playing good either. Rivera struggled too. LA is the only guy I have confidence in on the line. Maybe if we had a starting caliber RT and C would Rivera look like the ProBowler he was. He wasnt worth the money and hopefully like you said TT and RP can step the hell up in the next few weeks.

He's a freaking rookie! And a what, 6th or 7th rounder at that? For crying out loud, he's going to get better. No need to dog pile someone because you got your feelings hurt because the Cowboys lost a game.

Nobody is kissing any butt because we seem to see it on another lever than you. And who is it that you want to replace him with? A guy that got cut. If he can help, then bring him in, but lets stop with the BS that we can just plug in another player and wow, we are automatically better.

It's the next moring already, come in from the ledge and lighten up a little.

right you are Rack, the kids not athletic enough, when he's in space he is ok,but when he has to move, you see it in his footwork. But I think the same can be said for Allen and Tucker as well. The only lineman who seem to be able to move well is Johnson and Rivera. We watched Denver's quick DL abuse our slow OL yesterday.

everone wonders why we cant run screen plays, highlight the run part and insert slow lineman that cant set it up

I agree - the kid's just a rookie being asked to step right in and the expectations from some are simply unfair.

It's not like he was a second rounder. He's had some pretty good games and he's had some pretty bad games. It's to be expected.

It's simply not the norm for a 6th or 7th rounder to step right in as a starter from day one and expect him to play without making mistakes. It HAS to happen. It's called a learning curve.

Geez Rack, I think you completely blew the call on this one... who would you replace Pettitti with?

The problem IMHO began with Parcells tempting fate by saying, "hey, I only need one left tackle" Flozell didn't require much, if any help, so all we would have to do was help Pettiti, instead of helping both sides of the line. This same problem is probably also causing some of the run blocking problems. At least last year Julius had A side that he could run to. He doesn't have much now.

I think most of had unrealistic expectations concerning Pettiti. The fact that he is not playing very well should not come as a shock considering he is a rookie low-round draft pick. We all knew he would need some help this season. What we didn't know is that Adams would be lost for the season and Pettiti would have to become a seasoned vet overnight.

Give the kid at least a partial break.

Because there's nothing here that breaks any rules, I suppose I'll let this thread stand...but not without making a few comments...

Rack, we all know that Rob Petitti has relatives who frequent this site.

Now, that doesnt mean we shouldn't post our criticisms or concerns about him. And I'll guarantee that any relative of a guy as tough as Petitti can take any criticism handed out.

That said, there is a more gentlemanly/appropriate way of stating your concerns, especially in light of what I stated above, than Petitti "sucks" he's a "loser" etc

For someone who has genuinely honored a family member, who clearly values family, quite honestly, I'm pretty amazed you'd put up a thread that is THIS over the top.

Pretty sad bud, pretty sad.

I remember reading somewhere that it takes at least 3-4 years for an OL to really learn the position in this league.

As intelligent a man as I am it's taken me 5 yrs to learn how to operate this dang computer.......Good Grief have a little patience with the kid.

I wouldnt say it is over the top but Rack is using those words as an emphasis, not as a personal shot at Pittdawg. Using sucks or something like that isnt as appropriate as had a horrible game but still, IMO, Rack just wanted to get his point across.

I made my point about it...I never said it was a personal shot at Pittdawg...did I?

I'm done discussing the subject.

I think everyone is a little frustrated and is just trying to find anyone to blame for the loss. Bottom line, it is a team game, and while players can be exposed on certain plays, thre is alot you are not seeing on your tv screen. It is not just Rob or Rivera or Johnson. I am sure if you could see the entire field, guys like Campbell and Witten also blew blocks. Bottom line, the run blocking this year has been below average. Until it gets better, we will continue to have games like this, where one missed field goal can cost you the game.
