No Super Bowl this year....hopefully next year.

Man it would be awesome if the cowboys made it to the Super Bowl this year, I just believe our Defense needs a little more work.

In 1992, Woody and Pup were rookies and did not even start initially but over the year they galvanized the secondary. Holt, Brown, Washington, and Everett were a collection of journeymen pieced together in FA and the bottom rounds.

The youth in the secondary being a detriment is overblown IMO particularly with the scheme we run. We just watched a 6th rounder excel as a rookie last season in it.

The key is a couple/few DL stepping up and providing a rush but it's not impossible with several candidates particularly in the interior.

I suspect the offense to take another step this year. Running offtackle or those stretches, pitches and counters yield huge plays in the running game and Zeke should be more versed and utilized in the passing game. Dak is going to be in his second year in the system with all the same weapons and a new toy similar to his favorite target. I expect he and Dez are going to click with all the work they are putting in.

Frankly, the offense should be better unless LG is a trainwreck and even then it will be quite good. You don't need to stack both sides of the ball like you used to either with the roster parity in the modern era as opposed to the 90s. We are one of 5 or so teams that are contenders heading into the season IMO.

We have as good a chance as any to be in the big game. I don't think the Giants, Falcons, Hawks or Packers are any better than we are. Winning it is a big question especially if the Patriots are involved. The massive experience they have playing in that game generally plays into their favor.

Who knows. Catch lightening in a bottle and the defense get some turnovers...ya never know.

The Giants won two Super Bowls with nowhere near the best team in the league in 2007 and 2011.
The gboys had very, very good coaching in those years. Oh and a hell of a lot of luck too. Just sayin

In 1981 the Dallas Cowboys ran the ball a franchise record 630 times and was the #1 rushing team in the league. Tony Dorsett made 1st team All Pro with 1646 yards rushing. His FB, Ron Springs, ran for 625 yards. They absolutely hogged the time of possession and this placed an incredible burden on opponent offenses. Ironically, most analysts did not think the Cowboy could succeed that season because their secondary had been completely depleted due to retirement.

The secondary in 1981 consisted of a 33 year old Charlie Waters, former 11th round pick Dennis Thurman and two undrafted free agent rookies Everson Walls and Michael Downs. All they did was set a then NFL record in interceptions. the two CB's, Thurman and Walls, combined for 20 INTs. The safeties, Downs and Waters chipped in an additional 10.

That team seemed destined to go all the way but in the NFC championship game, Joe Montana threw this pass, there was a "catch" and the rest is history.

The point is, the strong running game created a domino effect that resulted in an historic season for a very young, inexperienced secondary.

This is why I predict that the Cowboy secondary will not be a detriment towards getting to the Super Bowl this season. In fact, their potential is extremely exciting.

I'm not sold on the Giants

If risen pukes favorite qb can show something, I like the Eagles more than I do the Giants

Old qb
No ol
Who's the runner?
Psychopath at wideout
B marsh addition puts them in contender category, when their a 7 win team without him vs this schedule? Don't buy it

Anything is possible!! I, in now way shape or form, like to rush time these days but man I always get excited for football season!

Also, call me crazy but I hope we run into the Packers in the playoffs. I think this team will be hungry to send them packing. I know us fans are eager to see them owed one.

Yeah!! Better in the next off season. Patriots are looking too tough for this season and the Cowboys are in tough with all these top defenses.
I think half those defenses will be below where they were for any number of reasons. Remember the vaunted Carolina offense of two years ago, laid an egg.last year.
