Heard this on Talkin Cowboys, I believe from the same report that had us ranked #12 in the league, they also ranked our top 5 best players.

1. Tony Romo
2. Tyron Smith
3. Travis Fredrick
4. Zach Martin
5. Sean Lee

Insert Dan or Dez for Sean..........Lee is too undependable to be in the top 5 IMO

Pretty soon we may be able to insert Zeke in there :D

Well the defense is more younger then the offense. The offense is more stable and been roughly the same starters for some time. Defense has tons of potential and possibly more break out players

We know on offense what to expect. .....defense well we aren't sure

Factoring in durability, Byron Jones is our most valuable defensive player right now.

After last season, I don't have a problem with Lee edging Dez out.

What makes me sadder is you can make a decent case that our top 5 players are all on offense.

Wouldn't that have been the case in 1991-95?

Emmitt
Troy
Michael
Eric Williams
Haley?

95
Emmitt
Michael/Larry
Troy
Woodson

96
Deion
Tony Tolbert
Woodson
Michael: had he been around the entire season. 1,400 yard pace
???

I don't know. Woodson and Haley were in the conversation early. Then Sanders came in, what, 1995? At least those three guys belong in the conversation with guys like Williams and Troy. Who we got on this roster after Sean Lee that you even think about for a second? McClain? Lawrence? Scandrick? It's pretty barren. And honestly, with Lee's injury history I don't take him over Dez, anyway.

And after this season, we'll be talking about Elliot in this conversation, too.

Top 5 what? If it's best players for their position then:

1. Romo
2.Tyron Smith
3. Dez Bryant
4. Sean Lee
5. Dan Bailey

That's the list right there.
