PFF ranks DP 88th best player in NFL, 8th best qb

I don't have any additional comments other than the obligatory, "pff sucks and is inaccurate."

I will say however ranking Andrew luck over DP is silly based on last year.

Well, he's a rookie. It's just a matter of time before Dak's undeniable proof of excellence attest to vastly improved ratings -- and that includes PFF.

The argument that he should be ranked lower than the others because you have to consider what they could have done in this offense is a subjective standard that isn't applied universally.

How often is a mediocre QB rated higher because he obviously would have done better with a better offensive line and running game? On the flip side, the top-rated QB would then not necessarily be the one with the best numbers/success, but the one who did the best with the poorest support.

All that can be used as criteria for something like this is how the quarterback performed. If that's the criteria, then Dak for this season ranks only behind Brady and Ryan. An argument could be made for Rodgers, though, based on his late-season surge.

I've talked to a lot of people about PFF and they deserve more credit than what they get. Let me just say this...they don't grade off the broadcast. Ever.

To put it bluntly...

Dak isn't as good as his supporters suggest.

Dak isn't as bad as his detractors suggest.

He's comfortably in the middle. There was a lot of the playback we had to abandon because of our 4th round rookie. But what we kept in the playbook? That stuff he executed better than could have been hoped.

Our offensive pieces around him made a limited playbook viable. I'm excited about the next steps.

And with a lot of potential untapped upside. I have made no secret in my belief Dak is the 2nd best QB on the roster, but that's a damned good 2nd and just starting to climb the QB experience ladder.

Besides, who the heck is a detractor? Unless not jumping on the hype train is considered detraction, how can anyone be down on this guy? He's starting great and it's easy to see he could be greater still... and a quality young man to boot.

Was Romo 7 ?

PFF = #FakeStats
It's for 2016 only, so he's not ranked. i. e. they are not saying Tom Brady is the best player in the league, they are saying he turned in the best performance last year. I wouldn't put Dak anywhere near the 8th best QB, but as far as last year goes they may actually be short-changing him a bit.

Take Newman away from the Vikes. Take Dak away from the Cows(with out a Romo). Which team suffers worse?

These rankings are silly.

Justifying Dak's production and his value/worth/ranking/ability based on his supporting cast is silly and a standard other rookie QBs are not held to.

Ben Roethlisberger has never been held to such criticism. His 2004 OL had 3 Pro Bowlers with 2 of them being All Pro. In addition had a Pro Bowler at WR. At Running Back he had Duce Staley and Jerome Bettis. Combined they had 1771 yds rushing and 14 TDs. And then the defense! He had the luxury of having 4 Pro Bowlers (1 All Pro).

They don't deserve a ton of credit either because they kill their credibility with the numerous mistakes they make.
