Yeah and he got hit on the noggin for it. That red hat has built up some confidence. I guess he thought it would save him from Myles.

Mason Rudolph will get a slap on the wrist. Who is out of football for the rest of the season, and maybe, even part of next season?

Who really won the fight?

One guy got angry because he perceived Garrett getting him with a late hit. Myles Garrett stupidly lost his temper in a game with 8 seconds on the clock that they were winning. MAGA Rudolph won.

How about mma? Several ex-football players have gotten into the octagon and gotten their butts kicked toyally.
That supports my post. The difference being that NFL players make a significant amount of money during their careers.

Not just the NFL .The culture of softness coming in a big wave.
But you are right he choose the wrong event to express his point what that clown did is wrong not only in sport but in street life too.

Yep. America is one big participation award.

Who said anything about winning or losing? And everyone around the league hates Rudolph. He’s lucky Garrett hit him on that part of his head. He could’ve got rocked. Just stupid.

He’s right. Every year these guys have to adapt to new rules. It’s soft. They are soft when they want to be though. Rudolph should’ve been suspended indefinitely too.
3 games for Rudolph, IMO. He tried unsuccessfully to pull Garrett's helmet off, but I doubt he planned to hit him with it.

The inconsistent enforcement of hits on the QB gives the impression of being either soft or over protective of the star QB's but ripping a QB's helmet off and hitting him with it isn't soft, it's stupid and Garrett is lucky he didn't connect solidly and be facing a criminal charges right now.

Pro football isn't hockey and doesn't want that reputation, a player just throwing a swing will get ejected. Controlling the aggression is part of it and Garrett wasn't taking his out on some OL that had been holding him all game or trying to cut him. He started that when he had Rudolph on the ground.

Quinn citing this case just proves he should have attended more classes, this is not the example to use for the NFL getting soft. Three games for kicking a player on the ground is soft. Girls and martial artists kick in fights, reach on down there Pouncey and get you some of that....tool.
Garrett swung that helmet with the opening down. Had the edge of the helmet come down just right, it doesn't take much to rip an ear completely off. He should be suspended for at least a full 16 games, IMO. I don't really care what pretty words he utters after the fact.

Really? Based on what? His Twitter likes? Rudolph’s teammates sure as heck seemed to like in in that fight - Pouncey tried turning it into a brawl.

I think all “MAGA Rudolph” has to care about is how his locker room thinks of him - and with Ben’s history and personality and what former players have said about him, seems Mason might be a step up in the likeness regard

The players aren't being fooled by Rudolph. Hopefully you aren't either but you never know........

You have a defensive player defending a defensive player. A single tweet.

And Cameron Jordan is ignoring, again, what Rudolph perceived to be a late hit. Jordan isn’t going after Rudolph specifically, it’s a defensive biased mindset, the same with Quinn.

I sympathize with defensive players in the league today, it doesn’t change the fact that what “started” this is that Rudolph was slammed to the ground and then held there after the play. Does it justify Rudolph’s reaction? No, but let’s stop pretending this stuff doesn’t happen every week.

You know what doesn’t happen every week? Players using helmets as a deadly weapon when they lose their cool.

He’s right. But he picked the wrong event to make his point.

By the way, Myles Garret indefinitely suspended.

Robert Kraft still owner of Patriots.

I agree. There clearly had to be consequences for that and are much more accurate examples of the NFL being soft.

I don't see that having rules and consequences against whacking other players across the bare head with a helmet is necessarily getting "soft".

I have to agree with Quinn. Normally when there is a rule change, officials and refs go to each training camp to talk about enforcement. But outlawing hitting a player in the head with a helmet, when they aren’t wearing one really received no attention from the NFL this offseason. How can you expect defensive players to stop opposing offenses if actions like these are suddenly not allowed.

His previous coach calling that "out of character" is funny. Who cares? That's like the neighbors of the serial killer. "He was quiet and kept to himself". Just one time I like to see some guy in a wife beater with chili stains, a PBR in his hand, interviewed. "Hell, I could have told people he was a serial killer. He'd stand out in the yard juggling chain saws and had over 50 axes in his collection and was carrying rolled up carpet out every weekend. He kept to himself because there wasn't no one alive around him for long".

Its all about Risk vs Reward, and the NFL is the only true Gladiator sport left on the planet.
Maybe there is still dirt diving in Yugoslavia, where you climb up a 30 foot ladder and dive head first in to the ground,, IDK, but I bet they got no insurance.
These players make millions, and I would imagine that they understand the risk vs reward scenario thoroughly before signing that contract.

Soooo, your solution is to just make it legal for players to rip off an opposing players helmet and commence to whacking him on the head with it?

The entirety of western society has gotten soft.

Stand up comedians can barely joke about anything anymore. Many of the greatest movies made in the 90s or before couldn't be made today. People are getting fired or kicked out of office for things they said or did 40 years ago. We've even attacked the use pronouns to the point that boys are competing in girls events.

Football has no chance of survival in that climate.

Rome fell. America is starting the same process.
That’s probably a little dramatic E. Lol

But I would agree our current climate isn’t healthy because there are some words and subjects which shouldn’t be mentioned in public or in the workplace.

Our society was beginning to make some progress which while perhaps awkward to some it’s more acceptable to majority in our ever growing diverse society and cultures.

We should make an attempt not to offend everyone and coexist with our neighbors, associates , coworkers , friends and family members despite our differences, beliefs and views on ever subject respecting their right to conduct themselves in any lawful behavior they choose.

They are not doing the right thing. They turn a blind eye to hgh. We all know these guys are using HGH. If you don't think they are you are blind. HGH really isn't bad but when a human gets to the point that an NFL player has gotten to it is unhealthy because they rely on atleticism instead of technique. These guys have gotten so big and so fast, while losing technique that the helmet has become far too dangerous to use. The helmet is now used a a tool in the NFL when it should be used only for protection. These guys have gotten so big and athletic that technique has disappeared from the NFL game completely. The techniques used in the NFL is very dangerous for head injuries and with these players using the helmet/head to run/ block and tackle it is destroying their brains. There has to be major changes to how the NFL plays the game or the players union will continue to have a case to sue the NFL. The NFL will then continue to make changes to soften the game to show they care for the players union.

Bring back proper technique to the NFL and it would fix everything but that would never happen. It would make the game more boring and less exciting for fans to watch. All fans want is offense. They want FF stats. So the NFL will continue to only care about making offense easier to meet what the current NFL fan wants. Fans don't care about player safety at all. If you did then you would stop watching this crap product until the NFL comes up with real fixes and not some crap to make it look like they care. Same the the Union. They don't care about the players safety either they will do things to make it appear like they do but all they care about is money.

All in all Money is destroying the sport. The NFL is a business they are doing exactly what they should. They aren't in the business to preserve the game of football. They are in business to make money. And NFL fans continue to buy into this garbage product so they will continue doing what they do.

they are doing the right thing when it comes to eliminating shots to the head and penalizing them. Nothing you said changed that.

The NFL looking the other way on HGH doesn’t mean the NFL is wrong for trying to take head shots out of the game.

The NFL is incentivizing players to tackle properly. It’s not their fault players don’t tackle properly that is preposterous.

The point is. People saying the nfl is “soft” is fake macho BS that some people want to spout on a messageboard to make themselves feel more manly. When the reality is the ones saying it would probably be the first one on a stretcher crying when they took one of those shots to the head.

it doesn’t mean every rule change has been for the better. Some of them are pretty lame, namely roughing the passer.

But shots to the head? They aren’t necessary on a football field and the NFL and the NFLPA should be doing everything they can to limit head trauma.

The idea the NFL is “soft” is way over the top. These players still play with broken bones, sprained ankles and knees, bruises all over their body, the nfl isn’t eliminating any of that. They’re trying to get rid of the head trauma.

After NFL cracks down on Myles Garrett, Robert Quinn sees football getting soft

Cowboys defensive end Robert Quinn worries that the handwringing about the brawl at the end of Thursday night's Steelers-Browns game reflects a sport that's changing for the worse. Quin...

The game probably won`t have as many fights as the preseason meeting won by Dallas 15-13. In one fight, Cowboy defensive tackle Randy White hit Bears` guard Mark Bortz on the head with tackle Keith Van Horne`s helmet.
