Beckham traveled to Dallas, but still may not play

If the Giants are trying to dupe the Cowboys into thinking receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be playing on Sunday night despite an ankle sprain, the Giants are committed to their craft.

Per multiple reports, Beckham traveled to Dallas on Saturday with his teammates, likely extending up until 90 minutes before kickoff the question of whether Beckham will or won’t play. That’s when the Giants’ list of inactive players is due to be delivered to the league and communicated to the Cowboys.

...

It’s possible that Beckham will indeed be active, but that he will be a decoy. Given that the Cowboys are obsessed with keeping him from altering the game on his own, it would make plenty of sense to simply have him on the field, opening up the rest of the offense until the Cowboys conclude that Beckham won’t be doing what he usually does.

The ruse could go next level if the Giants opt for a rope-a-dope approach, making the Cowboys think he’s a decoy before unleashing him once the coverage slides away from him.

Dez said he's gonna play... so I expect OBJ to be out there. Rod has generally been able to limit/contain him.

If for some reason he isn't able to play-- I won't be shedding any tears and fully expect the NYG to be in excuse mode when they get spanked.

If - no when they lose and he does not play they will point to that and say that we beat a less than whole Giants team. Go Cowboys

He will probably play but how much good will he be? How well can he cut and change directions, etc. I am always amused by people who do not consider those kinds of questions in regards players.

All I keep thinking about is the Madden video, with Greg Jennings and his broken leg. "he put the team on his back!"

that is why Madden was so famous; he had really creative eyeballs and a way of saying things that made them credible.

Like I've been saying, Dallas fans should hope he is playing. If NY wants to play 10 on 11, you let them and say thank you.

I want the drama queen to play. It won't matter this game is not going to be close. Giants although they are good, the love for them by the media and so called experts are in for a rude awakening.

NY aren't fooling anyone by playing this game, will he or won't he. This does not change Rod's game plan at all. Though the mediates (Al & Chris and all those bums) will act like it does, doting on Odella all night long. Even if he does not play.

Anyway, Dallas sticks to their game plan to start no matter what.
I hope that plan is to hit Eli, and hit him hard and often.

Right here. Even if he plays, all of this coverage can't mean he's 100%. Make him plant with that ankle.

No bounty or anything dirty, but use the knowledge.

He's not playing. So the Cowboys maybe can get a fake win to start off the season.
