Dude, you're delusional. It's going to be oh so hard to climb up that Deadskin roster chock full of superstars at wide receiver.

If he can improve the roster, then why is adding him a bad idea??? But he's on as a kick returner, at least to push Rock. You can't see that, really???

If they got him cheap, then they made a move that can't really hurt them either way. That being said, Goodell should suspend him for hitting his girlfriend and this just makes Commanders fans look like hypocrites as they always continue to forget the fact they signed beauties like Dexter Manley, Michael Westbrook, Darrell Russell, etc.

What makes you think we forgot that? Either way, none of those guys are on our roster now, so I fail to see the relevance. Sean Taylor was a bit of a thug when he got on the roster too, but apparently he turned it around.

So moving on, does anyone know the story offhand? A quick googling just revealed that the police were called, the girlfriend said he pushed her and began choking her. He left before police arrived, came back sunday and got arrested. Posted bail and the charges were later dropped.

The Skins get a receiver who can't catch and is always hurt. Nice one, Danny.

A pro bowl special teamer is like winning a medal in the special olympics... The Pro Bowl position was an after thought since most special teamers have little to no impact on the game even a returner. If they are that important teams would be tripping over each other to sign returners to high dollar contracts, but most barely make more than an average lineman.

I don't get your analogy dude. Winning a medal in the special olympics? Are you implying that if you get a good ST then you are ********? It's best to stay away from anybody who plays ST?

To me, ST guys are like buying a lotto ticket every once in a while. You don't expect much return from it and if you do win something, it's usually minimal (a couple yards of field position) but every so often, you take one to the house and cash in. Does it win games, probably not... But it sure as hell is nice when it DOES happen. Can swing momentum. Either way, he's not going to be a huge player for us, nor was he signed to be, and if he gets injured again or causes trouble, he'll be cut (as a matter of fact, I think he's a bit of a long shot to make the roster to begin with). If not, he can contribute as a returner and if he takes back one or two and keeps Randle El or somebody else who WILL contribute to the offense uninjured, great.

Before this incident with his girlfriend, I don't recall him ever being in trouble. The problem he's had on the field is being healthy. For the past two years, he could never stay healthy.

Regardless of his character risk, the guy is great as a returner and has speed to burn. As for his skills as a WR, he probably won't ever contribute in that regard.

I'm not a fan of men putting their hands on a woman, but since we're about to trade for a guy who supposedly likes to spit on women and bite people's legs in nightclub incidents, it's a wash, IMO.

What's wrong with a special teamer? Are you saying that every person on the roster has to contribute to either offense or defense and anybody who doesn't isn't worth the vet min? IF he makes it, he'll end up as like a 6th receiver and likely never see the field in an offensive formation.
Nothing wrong w/ it at all. I'm just ribbing you because you're on here defending his signing like he's the second coming of Art Monk or something. Basically, he's J-A-G & every team has a few on their roster...your Skins shouldn't be any different I suppose.

Every time I hear a Commanders fan talk about hoow the Cowboys sign thugs and acting like the Commanders are averse to doing the same thing.

I don't have the entire story, but as a person whose uncle works in law enforcement and has many friends in law enforcement, it's quite common to see battered women drop charges. In fact, it probably happens the majority of the time.

Anyway, here's a link to an article by Houston Chronicle's John McClain on Mathis' troubles.

Let me simplify it for you a pro bowl special teamer is like sleeping with the ugly chick at a party, yeah it was decent piece but you shouldn't go out bragging about it.
