I'm not saying anything since I thought Sanchez was decent after the way he played against us when he was at Philly. Then he came in last year and was horrible.

I'm not as down on Moore as most, but he is not an NFL QB. We would definitely have to alter our scheme a bunch. Smarts aren't enough if you don't have the physical skills needed to execute.

I'm not a fan of Kellen Moore. I don't think he is a good backup. I also don't think there are many good backup QBs out there who are or have been readily available. That is the state of the NFL. There aren't enough quality QBs out there. It is what it is.

I really don't get the Moore hate. If you can anticipate a route you don't need to have a really strong arm.

I think Moore is fine as a baI ckup QB.

I am also, but I think Linehan & Garret should have packages available to his strengths should he need to play for a length of time.

His height places him at a disadvantage. Seems he was susceptible to S's lurking that he could not see. Packages of more double slot, and or a receiver up the seam clearing his vision

Can Linehan invest the time to put Moore in a position to succeed..........?

...And according to recent statements by Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, the latter may be the reality.

“[Moore’s] like a machine,” Linehan told the Dallas Morning News. “He anticipates and sees guys open. He’s extremely accurate. A lot of guys get it done different ways, but guys don’t last long if they can’t hit moving targets on the run. That’s what he does best. …It might be a little bit different than Dak would do it, but he knows what he can do and he doesn’t let what he can’t do get in his way.”

It’s no secret that Linehan is a big fan of Moore after previously working with him as a member of the Detroit Lions and helping to bring the former Boise State legend to Dallas back in 2015.

Prior to signing with the Cowboys, Moore had never actually taken a snap under center during a regular season NFL game. Due to injuries suffered by then-starter Romo, the now 27-year old quarterback played in Dallas’ final three games of the 2016 regular season...

I don't mind the arm limitations if he was efficient and took care of the football.

But Moore had more INT's in his three starts in 2015 than Dak had the entire 2016 season. He showed he was capable of stringing together drives, but some of the INT's were really, really bad.
It's because every throw he makes has to be with perfect anticipation. Baby arm Moore will not throw a WR open. In addition, he has yet to win a game since he has been in the NFL.

Shoot, that rag arm!:)

true, if he had a cannon, he would've been the top pick overall and would be starting somewhere.
I liked him coming out, liked his football IQ. You don't find many good backup QBs in the league, frankly a lot of teams can't find good starters.
If Romo isn't willing to be our backup, I'm okay with Moore. There may be a few better backups around, but not a lot and probably more $ than Moore is commanding.
Our best scenario is that our backup QB never has to play except when we are blowing someone out. I think Moore could get us by for a game or two if we had to use him.
Clearly, we swung and missed with the parade of former starting QBs the year before last....might as well been trotting Moore out there then too.

The team obviously hasn't given up on Moore. With that being the case, it's clear that he'll be afforded the opportunity to prove himself whenever TC and the preseason games commence. This team and its fans are about to gain further evidence as to whether or not Moore is deserving of the backup QB position or not. I'm willing to wait and see further evidence as to what his qualifications are or aren't. This story is one that is yet to be totally revealed. I'll be anxiously awaiting further evidence of Moore's competence or not as our backup QB. It's not over just yet. Show me.

I've seen worse backup and starting QBs...on this team with better arms than Moore.

If we would have had a healthy Dez the whole season and a better Running back game (three total TDs by our starting RB) ...I would imagine our QB corp would have been a tad better.

I don't think they do as well as Dak but I don't think they would have been as bad as they were without a Zeke on team and a healthy Dez.

As far as staying as the backup QB...I think we can, and should try to, do better than Moore.

However I would also not be opposed to him becoming a member of the coaching staff.

I don't look at Kellen Moore any different than I did Garrett when he was backing up in the 90s. By all accounts he's a sharp, well-prepared reserve player that can step-in and execute a game plan.
Bingo ... his Intellect will compensate his weakness.

That final game of 2015 against the Skins:
435 yards
3 TDs
100.6 passer rating

All that while Doug Free was getting him killed. Moore was sacked 4 times.

You know who else had a monster game in a game that meant absolutely nothing? Matt Flynn in 2011. Hasn't did anything since.

Moore has a noodle arm and it would be 2015 all over again if he had to play a significant amount of time.

He can step in for a max of two to three games, and do a good job. But in the mean time, isn't paid like a quarterback actually shooting for a starting gig.

Haven't even made it to training camp, when all players compete...and the burn barrel buddies are in full swing, with their annual 'can't' rituals!

I still think that if he had started more of those games in '15, we would have had more wins. The offense looked different with him running things, than it had all year.
