Also all this talk of rushing him back is silly. They wouldn't even let him take 1 on 1 snaps in training camp because they didn't want to rush him.

He'll be back when he's medically cleared.

This. It's not up to Dez.

If it was, then maybe we'd have something to worry about. Fortunately, that's not the case.

The staff isn't going to risk him re-injuring that foot just to get out there a week early.

PFT is reaching, Stephen says they expect Dez after the bye, and not any particular game.

Who are you going to trust, the medical professionals who have studied the films, do this for a living and know what they're doing, or the CZ?

I love all the doctors we have here saying we shouldn't rush him back. If he wants to play, and the doctors clear him... let the man who loves to play football play some football.

Ya week 7 is too early that's not going to happen.

Dez is a freak of nature. He could play right now but we want to keep the competition in the NFC open. And its so much better for Streets to get the much needed reps.

LOL knowing him he would try play right now. From what I've read after that surgery it takes 6-8 weeks just to walk let alone play football.

I really think the next couple games will have some say in his return if we win and put our selves in a good comfortable position they will sit him out even longer

Gotta love those Jones boys:

“Our prognosis has never changed,” Jones said. “I know there have been a lot of people who have doctors on their media staff and like to speculate on these things, but we’ve been pretty consistent from Day One. At first we thought maybe four to six [weeks] and that changed to six to eight.

I wouldn't doubt that Dez would try to make a comeback in week seven, although I'm not so sure that Linehan will opt to allow Weeden to go downfield too far in getting the ball to him. Weeds is OK with the short stuff but has a tendency to get increasingly inaccurate the longer his throws become. Nevertheless, it would be a relief to see Dez return to action. Let's just hope he doesn't re-injure his foot in the process by coming back that soon.
