Cowboys-Giants one-liners

Posted by Josh Alper on December 7, 2009 8:55 AM ET
Although he threw for 392 yards and three touchdowns, Cowboys QB Tony Romo was focusing on his misplays following the 31-24 loss to the Giants.

Cowboys RB Marion Barber's fumble shortly before halftime led to a Giants touchdown and dramatically changed the game.

Nick Folk missed a pair of field goals and Giants PR Domenik Hixon returned a kick 79 yards for a score in a rough day for the Cowboys special teams unit.

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips took the blame for a long touchdown run by Giants RB Brandon Jacobs by saying that he called a zone defense to try to stop a deep pass.

Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware recorded his ninth career sack of Giants QB Eli Manning.

Jacobs added a one-yard score to his 74-yard catch-and-run, but said after the game that he felt he hadn't done enough to help lead the Giants this season.

Said Giants DE Mathias Kiwanuka of forcing a fumble in his return to the starting lineup, "If someone hands you the keys to a Ferrari, you step on the gas and you don't ask any questions."

Hixon's 79-yard punt return was the first punt return touchdown by the Giants since 2005.

Giants S Aaron Ross stuffed Cowboys RB Marion Barber for no gain on a key fourth-and-two play in the fourth quarter.

The Giants allowed the Cowboys to run for 251 yards in their first meeting, but gave up just 45 yards on the ground Sunday.
