Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that he’s hopeful of working out a modified contract with cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who is looking for more money than he’s currently set to make, and Jones may be trying to reward one cornerback financially by cutting the salary of another one. i dont see how cutting one corners pay to give it to another corner is not gonna cause problems amongst teammates.

It shouldn't.

As Car and MO both know they are liabilities and O Scan is by far our Best DB. Without him, you might as well bring back Reeves and Alan Ball.

What does the pay cut due, at this time? At the time, they wanted it, I was under the impression, it was the pay cut, or the Romo restructure. And I thought Dallas, still has some money left over from that.

Any dollar not spent is a dollar that can be used in the future. 4M cut this year and next could be the difference in...say...resigning Hardy.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I want Carr back, but not at his current salary. I still say he is a June cut

I doubt they are as bloodthirsty as the fan base. At least from a public perspective, they sound like they want him back, just at a lower cap charge.

I was under the impression, that it carried over to next years cap, is that the case?

First off let me say ... We obviously overpaid for Carr.. We knew that coming out of the gate .. It was the market and it was stupid inflated for average talent .. Dallas bit and paid for their guy... What I don't get is anyone being surprised by this .. Outside of pass def. we have the same caliber of db that we knew he was at KC.

KC Chiefs stats
Year. Int. tackle. TD. Pass def
08. 2. 70. 0. 6
09. 1. 56. 0. 19
10. 1. 46. 0. 25
11. 4. 39. 0. 15

Dallas Cowboys stats
12. 3. 48. 1. 11
13. 3. 60. 1. 12
14. 0. 45. 0. 7

KC Avg. per season
INT 2 per
Tackle 53 per
TD 0
Pass def 16

Dallas avg per season
Int 2 per
Tackle 51 per
TD .66 per
Pass def 11 per

I agree he should be paid less but we did get the same guy we overpaid for ... I understand we paid him for upside and potential but really never saw this tremendous upside in him .. I thought our scouting dept and mgmt saw something that I didn't .. Who knows ...?

Some of you still don't get it. Carr does not have to take a paycut to play in the NFL. he may be so pissed at Jerry and Stephen, that he would take less to go else where. these players have feelings. they are not just going to take pay cuts because teams tell them they have too. some will say no. and Carr is saying no. so it's up to the cowboys to cut him if they don't want to pay him. then both parties can move on.

He doesn't have to, but he will get cut.

No one is going to pay him 8m this year or 9m next.

So he will less to play here or less somewhere else.

He has made 33m over the last 3 years and didn't play up to those levels by a large margin.

That's my point. i know no one is going to pay him 8 million. but he has made as you said over 33 million. which means he can afford to play for less else where, before giving in to the cowboys demands. im going to say this again. PLAYERS HAVE FEELINGS. he may well take a paycut to play for some one else. but not here in Dallas. it's up to the cowboys to keep him or cut him. then both can move on.

I can see a restructure coming but not a pay cut.. He's not all world but we can't afford to lose him nor O'Scan right now being this close..

My guess is that we restructure Carr and increase Scandricks pay..

Now you make sense. and that's the way i think the cowboys should handle this. all these folks on here screaming for paycuts just don't get it. it's not that simple for players to give up money. i am sure Carr and his agent would restructure . but no paycut.

A restructure makes no sense.

That is still paying him 8m and it moves up the guarantee by 4 months.

The whole point is that he isn't worth the 8m. Just like Free, just like Murray , just like Melton, just like Parnell.
