TRADE FOR HALL WILL BE HARD

Posted by Mike Florio on February 22, 2008, 7:09 p.m.

Despite reports of talks between the Falcons and the Giants regarding a trade of cornerback DeAngelo Hall to the defending Super Bowl champs, a league source tells us that Hall’s contract will make a trade with New York, or any team, a difficult proposition.

Though Hall has said he won’t insist on a new contract as part of a trade, no one will be willing to give up a first-round draft pick for a guy who is signed for only one more year.

And with Hall, as we hear it, hoping to make $10 million per year as part of his new deal, the thinking is that no one would be willing to give up that kind of money and a first-round draft pick.

And rightfully so. The guy simply isn't worth that kind of money. That's some awfully expensive toast.

I'm not sure that there is a CB in the league I'd give 10 million a year too, honestly. As much as I like TNew I don't know that I'd want to give him 10 million a year. We're probably going to have to...but man that is steep.

As long as the "no one" is the Dallas Cowboys I'm happy.

I'm in agreement with you. He and Deion Sanders are reportedly close friends, and so I think he is the 'big splash' Sanders said Jerry would make this offseason. I hope not. Decent player, but not as good as he thinks he is.

The Cowboys should forget about Hall if he wants that kind of money. Just sign Samuel and keep our draft picks. OR resign Newman and draft a CB at #22.

Make it pesos and Dallas may consider.

:lmao:

Yeah right. Not for no 10 Mil. We could get Ashante Samuels or just gamble on a first round conerback in the draft.

If he gets a contract like that he need to earn atleast 5 mil of that money.

Did somebody just say all hall wants is money and doesnt care about winning. If that was the case he would stay in atlanta. If nate gets 10 mil a year hall is better so hes worth more. No corner is worth that much but it is what it is all big corners will look at that contract and say i want that. If dallas had more cap space id land him.

Hmm, he's young but not worth that king of money... I'd rather go after CB in the draft like Mike Jenkins from the Univ. of South Florida.

Atlanta really wants to unload their headache so Why Should WE pick him up?
He has great physical skills- but as the saying goes " MILLION DOLLAR BODY but a 10 CENT HEAD"

What Hall is Looking to get and what Hall actually gets will probably be different.

Not a shocker there but just because a player wants so much money, does not mean a team is going to sign him for that kind of money.

I heard that Hall's nickname on the Falcons is Catish. All mouth, no brains.

If you could buy Hall for what he is worth, and then sell him for what he thinks he is worth you'd be super rich.

I doubt very much we are looking at him. More likely looking at a 3rd CB kind of guy who can spot start in the event of injury. I do think we will draft a CB in round 1 and prepare for the future. I think 2008 is about solid depth at CB.
