I agree. No one would have taken the 3 points here. When has a team ever declined that type of penalty and just settle for a field goal? I understand we're frustrated with the results but I don't get this criticism.
I am confident that every single coach in the league would do the same thing.
You would normally if you had your starting quarterback and had an offense that could put up points by scoring touchdowns.I am confident that every single coach in the league would do the same thing.
As an anemic, this offends me. I could run a better offense than what the Cowboys are putting out there right now. They gambled the 3 for an extra 4 using an anemic offense that's realistic best-case scenario would have been yet-another-field-goal attempt that might be missed or blocked.
So, you want them to be shutout most games? lolDallas shouldn't punt or kick a FG the rest of the year. They should go for it on fourth down no matter what, honestly. They can't stop anyone so they might as well try to score as many TDs as possible.
Is there a difference between 34-10 and 34-7? Be exciting the rest of the year. While we're at it, they should always go for 2. They could have lost that game 34-8.So, you want them to be shutout most games? lol
Never, take points off the board. That’s my personal opinion.I knew the moment they took the points of the board any remote chance of winning the game was completely gone.
You have a team struggling to score points and you take a 64-yard field goal off the board.
What was McCarthy expecting? They would get closer to try another shorter field goal?
I felt the same way. My thought was because of who you have currently on the field. The odds of this offensive group on the field committing a mistake or failing to execute a play (4th down in this instance) are currently at their highest. I had no faith they could continue on after the penalty and get a touchdown. Maybe a shorter FG yes but I felt pretty solid the unit would walk away with a shorter FG or nothing. What a mess things are. I'm resigned to trying to watch player development for a future that is restricted by the GM.I knew the moment they took the points of the board any remote chance of winning the game was completely gone.
