Exactly it is a very risky defense to be caught in but the Cards knew that the coaches would play close to the vest on offense regarding Weeden to make safer throws in which came back to bite them. Rest assured if Weeden is the starter in London against the Jags you can bet that Gus Bradley a Seahawk disciple of defense will play that same style of defense against them and will definitely dial up some blitz pressure and will bring their nine man boxes to stop Murray as well as we both know Weeden is an average passer of the football and no defense no matter how bad they are and the Jags run defense is horrible won't respect the passing game no matter how many weapons the Cowboys have on offense.

True and if that is the case then I would hope to see a lot more go routs with Dez and Williams. Do what Garrett did when he had to QB vs GB he dropped back and chunked it down field and let Irvin and Harper go up and make plays.

My 2 least favorite play-calls of the season and maybe for several seasons were in this game. The 4th down play in the pic was my least favorite and the 3rd and short with no RB and Weeden as the QB was my 2nd least favorite.

The 3rd and 2 with an empty backfield choosing not to threaten the defense with the RB on pace to have the greatest rushing season in NFL history behind the best run blocking OL in the NFL was criminal.

Murray would have gained 100 yards if we kept handing it to him. He was obvious that we were wearing them down with the run late in the 2nd half and it was working. Murray was warming up and we were starting to make progress with the run. You don't abandon the run when their is momentum there. Watch the game again. Murray had some big runs when we needed it. It wasn't during garbage time.

Hmmm, I remember giving him the ball on 4th and 1 and he didn't come close to making it. Not close. Yes, Murray would likely have gotten 100 yards...and? We simply would have lost quicker since the clock would continue running. And likely had to deal with a much more beaten up Murray this week. It wasn't giving up, it was a mercy abandonment.

Murray averaged 4.1 ypc on the day. Nothing wrong with that number. It wasn't like he was getting stoned at the LOS on every play.

Without looking (mostly because I have no idea where to find that stuff), I'm guessing the average was skewed by a couple of fairly big runs. I'd love to see a distribution of his 19 carries. And yes, I realize that big runs also count. But arriving at a ypc of 4 with runs of 2, 2, 3, 2, and 11 is different than a ypc of 4 with runs of 5, 4, 5, 4, and 2. I prefer the latter, it suggests greater consistency, which in turn is more effective.

It has worked often with Romo as the QB, but it was almost guaranteed to fail with Weeden.
