Hardy is clearly the prize, as far as the Cowboys are concerned, among this class of free agents. I'd like to see the team get him signed. If it's at a discount because the rest of the league is busy moralizing about events that may or may not have transpired, so much the better. But discount or no discount, get him inked.

The possible suspension allows you to negotiate a more affordable deal. Move in before someone else does and you're left with nothing to improve the pass rush. Give him the money you had ticketed for Murray.

My plan would have been to give Murray a one time offer - if he didn't want it then move on and help the D.
Maybe sign Jabal Sheard to play DE and keep Carter and McClain. (Probably around 10 mill total)
Sheard-McClain-Crawford-Lawrence
Carter-McClain-Lee
Then help RB in the draft + a low end FA.
I look at it this way, Romo has maybe 2 good years left and our division sucks. It's there for us.
