My plan would have been to give Murray a one time offer - if he didn't want it then move on and help the D.

And how do we know they're not doing just that? They moved on rather than grossly overpay for Murray, is that not a reason for praise rather than scorn?

Maybe sign Jabal Sheard to play DE and keep Carter and McClain.

I can agree on Sheard as I thought his deal was a steal for the Patriots, but Carter was overpaid and McClain is still available to be re-signed.

Then help RB in the draft + a low end FA.

And we may yet end up better off at both RB and DE if they pursue Peterson or Hardy.

If the market dries up and we do nothing, I'll be yelling right alongside you, but that's not the case yet. They still have options and resources available to come out of this looking better than they did when the season ended.

You asked, I answered. Sorry. Doing nothing up until now (I know it isn't Sept) looks bad.

So they don't want to pay Murray, but they are going to shell out for Peterson and Hardy? Be serious

Why not? It's not like they're a cheap team that hordes money. If they have it to spend, they spend it. We may have made mistakes in free agency, but we've always spent money when we've had it.

Last I checked, they were about $9 - $10 million under the cap after the Tyron Smith restructure, and that's without doing anything with Romo's deal.

If they wanted to sign either or both of these guys they could.

And I hope they do.

Clayborne is kind of just a guy.

Not sweating this one at all. Now a week from now when we are reduced to signing somebody like Kroy Biermann or Alex Carrington and people pretend they can play, I might.
