News: PFT: Giants' Cam Skattebo carted off with serious injury

I literally see 3 to 5 posters in here rooting for injuries to happen to opponents every game we play

Already seen 2 on the game thread suggest going for Nix's knees... but then put "LOL" at the end.

Was one you?
Nope, wasn't me.

I think he'd still play if they'd let him.

Dude is a beast.
Meh, I've said from day 1 of his battering ram style at ASU he wouldn't last. Gives me no pleasure he got hurt. Hard nosed kid for sure but he welcomes contact and in this league that's a problem

I hope it was his leg and not his ankle. If it was just a leg break, he should recover. Ankle injuries can be really tough. It looked bad.
Agree, because the range of motion and strength might not come back all the way

I so wanted Dallas to draft him somehow. But since the 4th round is now Jerruh's poker chip, that hope was unfulfilled.

I liked the kid, despite the fact hes a Giant. Im sure id be sick of him soon though.

It sucks he got hurt, but he's an injury waiting to happen. Dude plays a very violent brand of football and ill be amazed if he makes it more than a handful of seasons.

This is a huge reason why running backs should not be limited to rookie contracts. The they are in one of the most violent positions and their shelf life is ultra short.

I wanted the Cowboys to draft that guy so bad but noooooooooooooo Jerry went with little boy Blue way down in the draft because he thought he was getting "value" in the 5th round, what a joke!

always crazy when ppl argue for discounts. It's their careers . If Goldman Apple Google, etc asked me to take a discount I'd be out the door.
Skattebo got more guaranteed money before he ever played a snap for the Giants than some people make their entire career. (1 million +) These guys live the good life. I do feel bad for him with the injury and I am not saying many of these guys don't work extremely hard, but professional athletes live a very privileged life you can't compare it to a 9-5. A pay cut for a lot of people would drastically change their lives. A pay cut for a guy who's already made 50 million dollars (not Skattebo obviously) talking about how bad they want to win a Super Bowl, a few million dollars isn't life changing. But I don't "blame" the guys for wanting to get the most money they can get. But be honest about it. "I want to win, but I wouldn't give up any money out of my own pocket to win." is fine to me.

My Sun Devils are TOTALLY LOST without him....was the heart and soul of the team....feel terrible for him.

Just brutal.
Feel bad for guys who have those type of serious injuries.
Was a fun player to watch, even if he was a divisional foe.

Cam Skattebo carted off with serious injury

Skattebo was taken to the ground while attempting to catch a pass and his right foot and ankle bent very awkwardly. It was an ugly sight and teammates were getting emotional, knowing that Skattebo is likely out for a very long time.
The cart came out for Skattebo, a large cast was placed on his right lower leg, and his teammates came to embrace him as he was taken off the field.

Really hate to hear that. Division rival, but I don't like to see any player seriously injured, especially one just getting started.
This injury added a year of positive brain function to his life. That guy uses his head way too much as a battering ram. He wont last long in the nfl or in life if he keeps that style of play up. It happened to Marion Barber.

This injury is kind of saving him from himself. I may also be more of a blessing and make him switch up his style all together when he comes back. No way he continues to run like that on a recovered foot or ankle.

Things happen for a reason.

I've been saying it for years, the NFL needs to ban that Steer Wrestling type of "tackling". That is no where close to how one is taught how to "tackle".
From what I saw, his shoe got caught in the turf, it wouldnt move, and he fell on himself it looked like.
the guy still had hold of him and may have landed on his foot, it was hard to tell.
It wasnt a bonde break though but it did break the ankle and ripped the various tendons holding ankle together.

It was a freakish accident.
I liked him and dart and that they were kind of a tandem.
Dart will get hurt too if he doesnt start running safer and sliding.

yeah but this was on a pass he went up to catch and it put him in awkward position.
He was safer running and staying on the ground for passes.

Thi
An injury to this young stud doesn't surprise me, especially how hard he plays the game. Hope he's okay and is able to play the game he loves next season.
This injury could have happened to anyone.

Did the Iggles fans cheer the injury like they did when Michael Irvin went down??
No. They were standing and thumbs up/ applause for him He’s the type of hard-nosed player that is liked by that fan base.
