Yeah, he shouldn't make fun of Bradshaw like that.

I'm happy Jimmy has found peace :)

He has the best of both worlds now. He gets paid a lot of money to talk about what he used to do. He receives mucho respect from everyone for building an incredible team. And then he goes home to play on his boat and hang out.

Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson sure looked happy together during the grand opening of Cowboys Stadium. Just don't let your mind wonder about whether the old Arkansas teammates might work together again.

The years have apparently healed the wounds from the mid-dynasty divorce. And Jerry could be looking for a coach if the Cowboys underachieve again this season.

But it's extremely unlikely that Jerry would put his ego aside to re-hire Jimmy, even though nearly two decades have passed since they wrestled over credit for building what became the Team of the '90s.

And it doesn't matter anyway. Jimmy has zero interest in ever coaching again. He made that clearer than the Atlantic Ocean waters that splash up on the private beach outside his South Florida palace during a recent visit by the Miami Herald's Dan Le Batard.

''Pro coaching is . . .'' Johnson begins, and then he makes a sound like he's vomiting.

Jimmy Johnson was the best! Cowboy fans are lucky that we got him...

Anyone that went to school with Janis Joplin has to have success!

Football is a narcotic. The highs will take you to the moon but the lows will sink you to depths of hell. Most coaches sacrifice a great deal; some have distant relationships with family and friends while others are functioning alcoholics. It is definitely a dog eat dog business and that I have the utmost respect for those who are able to gut it out over a long period of time.

I am sure I am the only one who doesn't believe some of the things Jimmy says.

ie. He was ready to leave. CLEARLY Jerry canned him and Jimmy didnt want that. Remember him saying he is retiring. He didnt want to.

Jerry Jones scarred Jimmy for life.

It doesn't matter what you or I believe about that situation. Only two people know the true cause of the falling out and whether Jimmy quit or Jerry fired him. So many stories have been told about that situation that we will never know what to CLEARLY believe.

I believe that both men were scarred for life. Jimmy may have been scarred in the obvious way that you suggest but Jerry too has sufferd from it. He has been driven ever since to prove (unsuccessfully) that he was the genius and driving force behind the teams of the early 90's. His desire to prove himself has colored everything he has done since and has lead to his abysmal mismanagement of the team over the years.

I don't know who did what, rather he quit or got fired, but all I can do is take Jimmy at what he said (In his America's Game Interviews) and he stated that he wasn't fired and that he'd been planning to leave all along.

Now rather he says that just to be nice, and be saying it, or it's the truth I guess that's up to each person to decide on their own. I don't see why he'd feel the need to say he quit, and planned to all along, just to be saying it so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he knew he was leaving.

I'm sure that the stresses of coaching, of dealing with Jerry, of Jerry dealing with him all contributed to that decision, of that I have no doubt, but other than that I've got to take the man at his word.
