I think there are medical benefits to it. As someone who grew up when everyone smoked I don't know that pain management is that much of a benefit from it. But I do wish the NFL would just stop testing for it. Worry about PED and wife beaters. Let the weed guys have their fun

It's funny how the approach to marijuana has changed since even I was in grade school (about 15 years ago).

Even in the age of phone zombies and social media, common sense is starting to show. There are going to be those that abuse it, for psychological reasons, but there are plenty of users who use it medically, or even recreationally that are highly functioning members of society. In the grand scheme of things, there are many other avenues I'd prefer to spend tax dollars on than criminalizing someone with 50$ worth of pot, and it's great to see progress.

Now, if we can just begin smarter treatment for opiates and stop treating them like dirty addicts, we'll really be cooking with gas.

I think if we stop giggling about this we can start enacting change

You know what you don't do when you smoke? Hit your wife.

I'd hope you are providing contrast from alcohol here but even then, the percentage of men that abuse their wives is extremely low even with alcohol .

Are you more likely to act impulsively on alcohol than THC-CBD? Absolutely .

Wow. It's almost like it's the 21st century. On this issue exclusively. Many others we've went back in time. Way to America!!

Maybe from the makers of prescription pain killers.
Like everything else it comes to money.

With relation to the NFL, opioid use is rampant and there have been high profile cases like Favre. The fact a low contact sport like the NBA is tolerant and the NFL is not defies logic.

It's well past time for the world to get past the "Reefer Madness" idiocy that pervaded the opinions of its populace in the past. Marijuana is an herb that has proven medicinal qualities that can no longer be denied. Its pain-management qualities are well known to many in the medical field and would be far more favorable for the NFL players than the opiates now being implemented for that task.

I'm relieved to finally see some sound evidence that we're now, at long last, waking up to the truth. The absurdly harsh penalties currently being assessed by the league office for its use by their players are destined to be subjected to ever-increasing scrutiny in the months and years ahead.

Can the NFL profit from this decision? That is always the deciding factor.

You mean sell it and put their logo on it?? You bet! I got my official Cowboys Brownie for 2017 in the mail yesterday!! I can't wait to eat it!! Too bad it cost me $120!! :)

NFL is all about image control. Now that the perception of weed is changing, all of the sudden it's not a big deal.
