Also the prison guards union. If Joe rogan is correct, the guards union has opposed legalization because of the number of people incarcerated because of weed. To them, weed = incarceration = jobs.
I think that's a huge factor in it. My little small town newspaper comes out once a week and prints the arrests and whatever, about half of them are marijuana related, it's ridiculous the jail time and fines and bail postings associated with it. It's a big revenue generator for counties

Good to see the league starting to act like adults about the subject.

It's funny how they just now look into it. What was the harm in looking into it in the first place? People seem to like a lot about it. Why run from that? Why are they not inclined to help people be as happy as possible?

I think the answer is purely athlete envy.

probably because states have just started legalizing it within the last 4-6 years. yea, they *could* have started 6 years or so ago, but they likely purposefully did not want to be on the fore front with this.

Everything done on the football field is a crime if it happened in public. If the medical community says it has benefits then it should've been looked into. They were weak-spirited and couldn't handle the old school fans who wouldn't want to see athletes getting high and making millions at the same time.

I'm by no means a researcher but I am someone who knows something about physiology and biochemistry. I've always heard there could be benefit, especially for those of recent African decent, to use cannabis as an analgesic. We need to test without bias and relieve suffering where we can. It's the humane thing to do.

Where do I sign up for the study?

The NFL will never "allow" marijuana use....they are fighting a hard enough battle with the concussion issue...they will not allow even the hint of players playing while high or while being role models to the kids

It is a shame considering how easy it is too abuse pain pills but if they open Pandora's box with weed every single player would qualify for a medical or pain waiver....I still think getting high is the main benefit with marijuana and I'm not sold on the "curing" qualities but if they can remove the THC like others have said then that may be a compromise but will the players still want it......it is like non-alcholic beer or Walmart rap albums after censoring...what's the point
