QUINCY CARTER ARRESTED

NBC 5 in Dallas reports that former Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter was arrested on Friday for alleged possession of marijuana.

Carter, the one-time starting quarterback in Dallas, was cut by the team after being suspended in 2004 for violation of the substance-abuse policy. He later spent some time with the Jets, and was in camp in the CFL.

Most recently, he played for one of the teams in af2, the junior version of the Arena Football League.

Earlier this year, a report from ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli that Carter was getting consideration for another chance in the NFL was roundly met with scoffs and guffaws by league insiders.

damn felony weed?
I read a couple of the other threads but had no idea he got hit with a felony, given his past he is pretty ****ed.

Hope he has cash for a lawyer or someone to help him out, thats gonna get expensive for him to stay out of doing time.

Course a felony is pretty broad I wish it mentioned what class.

It's a felony now because this is his second offense.

From the article: "Because the incident marked the second time Carter was arrested for marijuana possession, the charge is a felony."

Enough about QC....he's been gone for 3 years now.

If it weren't for QC, we may not have Romo right now. ;)

I know that's a possibility, but I really think the writing was on the wall for QC regardless. The coaches were very high on Romo and supposedly some were even pulling for him to start even back then. QC was going to be the odd man out with Henson having costed a 3rd rounder and Vinny having been just signed. His time was up.

Former Cowboys QB Arrested On Drug Charge

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter was arrested in Shreveport on a drug charge early Friday morning.

Carter was booked into the Shreveport City Jail at about 4 a.m. after being charged with possession of marijuana. Carter was later transferred to the Caddo Correctional Center.

In a news release, police said the incident began at about 1:30 a.m. when an officer stopped a silver car that was reported to have been involved in selling drugs at the Circle K convenience store at Youree and Southfield.

While stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on Carter and transported him to the DWI Unit for testing. Carter was found not to be intoxicated but did have about three grams of marijuana in his pants pocket, officials said.

Carter was charged with second offense possession of marijuana, a felony.

This isn't Carter's first arrest in connection with a drug charge. Last December, Carter was arrested on a drug charge in Irving following a domestic disturbance call.

Former Cowboys' QB Carter Arrested On Marijuana Charge
13th October, 2007 - 7:20 pm

dal_pp.gif

ESPN - Former Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Quincy Carter, whose football career stalled because of drug allegations, was arrested early Friday in Shreveport, La., and charged with a felony count of marijuana possession.

Carter was released early Saturday, his 30th birthday, on bond of $5,224, an official in the records department at the Caddo Correctional Facility told ESPN.com.

The arrest represents the latest off-field setback for Carter, a former second-round draft pick who has not played in the NFL since 2004. He spent the 2007 season with the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings of the AF2 league. The AF2 is essentially the minor-league edition of the Arena Football League.
