Love the warrior in Romo and the true gamer he is. Kills me to say this but one injury (especially back and shoulders) will have an effect on other parts of the body. He's going to have to learn how to fall to protect those areas and at some point like the Philadelphia game and the tackle that injured him, he'll have no choice. He was legally wrapped up and jammed into the turf.
What do you think every opposing D Coordinator will advise their defenses to do in 2016? Blitz him, hit him, put him on the ground even at the cost of an early penalty or TD. They are going to ride him and test him until Romo proves he's healthy enough to finish. If Romo is out of the game, chances are much higher that we lose and everybody (esp) the opposing defenses know this.
I know everyone of us will be cringing every time he hits the ground. If he can get through the whole season healthy enough to play in January, it will be a miracle.
Yes I'll be praying for a miracle but I'm also looking at a viable exit strategy which is to pick a QB with the 4th pick.

Its tough for me to believe he'll avoid injury this year.

the rules for protecting QB don't help with the torso which is where all his injuries are. Ribs, Back, Clavicle. Even the years he has not missed many games he did have to play hurt for a good part of the season with broken ribs.

He doesn't really play to avoid contact, he hangs in there and takes big shots waiting to throw the ball too often. I like that in a QB, but I don't think his body is built for that. Or maybe he's just taken too many already.

I always have to laugh at the old, "defensive coordinator dial up a broken collarbone" play that people fear will be called all of the time now. Why wouldn't this be a viable strategy against every team in the league as well? I'm sure the Jets would trade a penalty to get rid of that pesky Tom Brady too.

After weeks of deliberation, Cowboys quarterbackTony Romo had surgery to shore up his left collarbone against what would be a fourth fracture. And he has now declared that everything is fine.

My surgery has healed up nicely,” Romo said on Twitter. “Looking forward to OTA’s and a full offseason. Let’s go!”

Has only had 2 fractures; the 3rd incident was premature disruption of non-union (wasn't healed before contact).

Draft Tunsil and he won't even have to wear pads.

Untrue, not unless they put him in a red jersey.

No OL is that great in pass protection. The best line in the league two years running could not help out to that degree.

I know it is all fun and games to pretend that we are just a right tackle away and that once we get rid of that terrible Doug Free, that Romo can just sit back there for ten seconds, but that is not the case.

Pretty sure he was kidding, Alex

I know that, but there is still a little segment of people who think that if yet another elite talent is added at right tackle that it makes a huge difference.

Pass protection is hard in this league. Even Dallas' talented line can't stop every stunt, twist or blitz. Your QB is going to get hit unless they are getting rid of the ball quickly.

That is why Brady is so healthy and even to a lesser extent, Manning. The design of the offense is to get the ball out right away and it is schemed that way. Our offense is not exactly like that.

The sequences of eight binary bits defined by your statement were compiled, executed and pushed to stdout where they were interpreted using views and replicated for each user process.

I have skills too :D

even if he isn't the same Romo we have been watching all these years, an 80% percent Romo is light years ahead of anything we will be able to find......

Get the young QBs in here, develop them, evaluate them. Let then watch Tony...... But Romo really is the "heart and soul" of this team, He is our only shot, to maybe make a run in the next few years.

After a 4th fracture, I hope a big part of the game plan is to keep him upright and not expose him, unless absolutely necessary to win games.........

Him and Witten and some others , need to get to that SB. I have resigned to it probably not happening.....But, that should be the goal for this team and franchise, spanning the next 2 years. Sell out if you have too....but get Romo to that SB.............................

yeah I dont see it happening either, not with JG his staff, and the jones.
I can see them making the playoffs, but once there, and they have to play the other top teams, the cowboys will falter.

2007,2009,2014, all good years, but fALter in playoffs. JG was running offense in all those.
In 2014 they did better as he was not as involved as previous years.

But it also depends on how strong or good the other playoff teams are.

There hasn't been enough time for Romo's surgery to have fully healed. His surgery was March 8th with a 6 to 8 week time frame to fully heal.

Yeah. I don't think he's saying it's 100% healed already, but that it's healed up nicely so far.
I think it's other people adding the "fully healed" part.

Romo's health is the difference between winning the East with relative ease......and 4-12.

I saw your comments on PFT. Man there are some stupid people in those comments section. Gotta love the Philly fan bashing Romo about his conversation with Brady about going to the SB. Now this is the team that is paying $21 mil in contacts to Sam Bradford and Chase Daniels or whomever their back up is? I just think it is funny to call Romo fragile next to Sam Bradford.....lol....

You've got to love Tony's enthusiasm and I truly hope that things work out for him health-wise. He's worked so hard to help this team win and you can't help but root for good things for someone like him.

Others around him need to step up and help this team win especially on the defensive side of the ball so it's not on him to have to win games every week.

As I have said I want to see Dallas take a QB in the 1st rd to prepare for life after Romo. I think Tony can still be very productive but at age 36 time is ticking even if he was not dealing with broken collarbone. I don't think the doctors would have recommended this if they did not feel it would benefit him but none the less the Cowboys need to look at getting the next QB to take over in the near future.

Agreed, and no surprise there. If I recall correctly on the old board you were one of the biggest Romo detractors of all time. :)
