PFT: Rumble in Houston...between Shockey and a bunch of Texans..w/video

The Saints and the Texans will play a preseason game on Saturday. Today, they're practicing together in Houston.

And they're doing more than practicing.

A brawl erupted today after Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey and Texans linebacker DeMeco Ryans collided following a pass thrown behind Shockey by quarterback Drew Brees.

Here's the video. Shockey apparently was miffed that Ryans hit him before the ball arrived. Within seconds, they were pushing and shoving and swinging, and Shockey was swarmed by blue jerseys.

The most intriguing aspect of the video, in our view? Shockey's teammates made only a perfunctory, half-hearted (as opposed to "Hoof Hearted") effort to help him.

Per John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, there were a total of six fights during the session.

"It was very Gangs of New York-esque," said Texans tackle/PFT Planet member Eric Winston.

It's a shame Shockey's first name isn't "Bill."

Theo I believe that was Demeco Ryans who pushed afterwards. Probably some jawing going on prior to this, and then right after the play was over, that led to that push.

Thats Bull. He got slammed and no one came to his defense..Yeah great team chemistry there. what a joke all I saw was a gaggle of Texans, I hate Cocky just as much as anyone on here, but what a bunch of clowns his teammates are I guess they really hate him

One shining moment about RW31 was him owning Shockey that one game where he couldn't catch a cold. He tried different gloves, no gloves, one glove...all led to drops
