SPRINGS TO SIGN WITH PATS

Last year, the New England Patriots lost a cornerback to Philadelphia, when Asante Samuel jumped to the Eagles on the first day of free agency.

This year, the Pats have managed a small measure of revenge, winning the two-team derby with the Eagles for the services of veteran corner Shawn Springs.

According to Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal, Springs is expected to sign with the Patriots.

Springs was released last Friday by the Commanders.

Sure doesn't look like it, getting another old CB after getting rid of one made no sense anyway, it was all about his connection to Texas.

Not shocking. It's a good situation there for a player of his age and ability. With this rumor of Orlando moving to FS some though I'd sure like to have Springs here for the corner depth we're apparently going to need soon.
