The Market

Entertainment is the dark under belly of captialism. It's a greta system but has some odd results at times.

I mean Kloe Kardashian makes about 17 million per year before endorsments.

That, and this guy is a millionaire:

Stafford is inferior to Romo in just about every category. Our fans really dislike Romo but this guy is far less clutch and less accurate.
According to most homers, Romo is the best QB this planet has ever produced. Just the team around him has sucked for over 7 years.

If you think Stafford is the better QB then feel free to produce the evidence to support it. Otherwise you're just quoting things that people never said.

Wasn't it reported Michael Jordan took a pay cut so the Bulls could get better players? I guess the thought was he would make it up with endorsements with the added championships. In his case, the gamble did work, if the story is true?

That's rich coming from Stafford. One of the big things holding the Lions back now is that their salary cap is crippled by having Stafford, Calvin Johnson, and Suh who combine to take up some ungodly high percentage of their available space. Their team is a textbook example of the double edged sword of high draft picks under the old rookie salary system.

Stafford is being disingenuous and very clever. He implies that he doesn't want to break records with his contract but His rookie contract will be fully earned which he would've never received were he drafted today. He's far ahead of RG III and Andrew Luck in compensation. Add to that his fair market value will be in the top ten because that's the market value for his talent.

Sounds good with the fans but no agent is going to let him take substantially less so "other talent" can be signed. Other talent will come through his restructuring, not through a pay cut. Nice try.

While this is true, I think Stafford is the kind of guy that doesn't necessarily need the NFL to make an excellent living like some NFL players. He's got a great college education to go along with roots in Highland Park... I'm sure he's developed enough quality connections along the way to where he could make a great living without the NFL. Maybe winning is more important to him.

All speculation of course.

If I was Romo I would take ALL OF THE MONEY... leave nothing for anybody else.

We dont get players to protect him on the line so CASH OUT before you get laid out and planted into the turf.

Romo is just better than his critic like to claim., I have not heard anyone make the claims you are insinuating. Romo is a damn fine QB, the best in the league? NO best ever NO but he is a damn fine QB anyone with an ounce of common sense and knows anything about football can see it. However we seem to have a Madden playstation crowd you seems to think QB wins it all alone.
Getting rid of a QB like Romo does not solve the Cowboys problem it only makes matter much worse.

No matter what he produces, he's just quoting things about Romo that people never said. It's what he does, for some reason.

What the Romo fan club misses is that Romo's contract, for the short term, helps. But for the long-term it does not.

Get back to me after the 8-8 season that ends with Romo thowing another interception and then we can discuss his god-awful contract that will hamstring us in the future.

If we do not draft a QB (this month) for the future, that will further show how shortsighted jerra is. Romo, by the end of next year, will be too old to even thow "good" interceptions.

Our posters do not have to prove anything to you or to the Tony Romo fan club.

Tony, with his $16 million, will prove that he is not the brilliant QB his fan club thinks he is. He already has the money and his motivation if gone. He will honor us with his gee-whiz "We half to get better" press conferences and his N. Illinois talents and, at seasons' end, we will be left to wonder if Stafford is the better QB.

Here is my prediction: Stafford will be in the NFL long after Romo has thown his last interception.

My Cowboys are on the ascent and it did not half to be this way.

Drafting some mid to late rd QB is not going to cure anything. I highly doubt we get a 4th or 5th rd QB and lable him as the future. Odds are slim on mid to late QB ever developing to begin with and Dallas sure as hell will not be using a 1st rd pick to get one.

Add to that there is no one that even thinks this is a strong QB class. The comment is just yet another slam on Romo without even thinking.

And how would you know if his motivation is gone without him even playing first game of upcoming season?

Since Stafford is younger than Romo...not much of a prediction to say he will be in the NFL after Romo.

Romo is so far from being that player who plays only for the money. He doesn't spend a ton, gives an enormous amount to charity (though mostly under the radar), and is almost bling-less. He just does not at all fit the MO.
That comment was way out of line. Basically spiteful for no good reason.

Man I agree! Your Cowboys are on the ascent. You shouldn't watch their games or ever post here again to prove just how disgusted you are. That would teach us all a lesson we shan't soon forget.

That isn't much of a prediction. Tony is almost 8 years older than Stafford. Of course the odds are that Stafford will be playing years after Romo has retired.
