Completely forgot the SB was even on until I went to the grocery store after band rehearsal and was thinking, “Well, that was a huge mistake.” Ended up watching it when I got home but not paying that much attention because I despise the Patriots.

Aside from the poor officiating, it was probably the best NFL season in quite a few years. It is a shame that it ended with that game for the casual and non-football fans to witness.

I don't mind defensive battles but that game won't do much to draw in new fans.
I like a good defensive game but this was just bad
A good defensive game would have been better
This was just bad football
If not for Edelman this game may still be tied 3-3 and still going

1)People are sick of Tom Brady and the Pats.
2)The Rams got there under suspicious circumstances.
3)The game was boring.
4)The halftime show sucked.
Even the commercials were bad
Probably the worst SB I’ve seen

If it wasn't the SB I would've turned it off at halftime. 3 points and 8 punts followed by Maroon 5 and two guys whose names I'll never recall.

Vegas got destroyed........95% of the money was bet on NE giving -2.5.... they made some back on the over/under
No joke? I have trouble believing that. Where did you get the 95% from? And if it was that onesided, why didn't the line move more?

I don't think 95% is correct.

No way it was 95%. I think he just made that number up. Vegas sets lines to get money on both sides. They are not setting a line where 95% of the people are taking one side.

No

Nobody outside of Massachuesetts cares about the Patriots, and Nobody cares about the rams, not even in LA. Was a bad superbowl...I think as somebody pointed out a couple weeks ago the NFL needed to put the Rams in the superbowl to spark interest as they have a new stadium the city has to pay for. So they need the publicity. That blown call in the NFCCG does nothing to change te thinking in that either.

Some big late money came in on LA when it got to -3..... the 95% was from early last week but it still finished around 73%

Late last week, the New England Patriots were on pace to become the most popular Super Bowl bet we’ve ever tracked with 80% of spread bets against the Los Angeles Rams, according to The Action Network’s public betting data.

Super Bowl bettors loved the Patriots
New England attracted most of the betting handle across the country. The Patriots accounted for anywhere from 65 to 90 percent of the tickets and money at US sportsbooks across an informal survey of Nevada and New Jersey operations.

I didn't make it up.....last weekend it was reported 95% was on NE..... some late big money came in on LA when the line went to -3 at some places

Trust me, I know. I live here in northeastern Louisiana filled with Saints fans. I wear some sort of Cowboys apparel every day (usually a cap) so I am one of those goto non-Cowboys fans in their eyes for Saints' related discussions :p.

They are fully in 'SEE? SEE WHAT WE DID? YEEHAW!' mode. I am like "Guys. The solid base of any franchise is powered by their home cities. New Orleans has a population less than 400 K. Do y'all really believe you punched the NFL in the gut as hard as you think you did?" Funny. They rarely like me offering a logical perspective in their conversations.
Finally thought they got a win then you show up with verbal pass interference. I don't see why they wouldn't appreciate that.

Markets and fanbases aside, I'm sure a lot id people didn't bother to come back after it was 3-0 at halftime.

The matchup was not ideal, and the two teams delivered duds.

oh bringing up halftime :) I wonder how many people were scared off by that halftime show. I'm sure that one fan that watched because he thinks both brady and goff are studs was the only one to enjoy it.

This might be more of a statement on what fans think of the state of the NFL today. I think the officiating and the rules changes might be affecting viewership more then some may think.

Particularly with the blown/rigged PI call with New Orleans.

Bad officiating was a cancer this year. Whether the games are fixed or randomly blown by the refs, either way it leaves me increasingly hostile to the league.

I watched a little because I was invited over to a SB party.
Props to Wade for holding down Brady for so long.
Props to NE's OC for coming up with a way to beat Wade at the end. Wade had nothing to stop the jumbo package.

Sorry but the game sucked.... there was no flow, no big plays and a bunch of crappy commercials

No putting lipstick on that pig.... sloppy play and missed opportunities

But I wouldn't characterize it as sloppily played. There weren't a bunch of turnovers, excessive penalties, or other mistakes like Super Bowl 5. It was simply great defense by both teams.

From my perspective, Super 48 was a boring game. That game exhibited all you were looking for in this one, but it wasn't exciting to me because it was essentially over by half. This game wasn't boring because it was in the balance until less than 2 minutes left.

I may be in the minority, but I appreciate a well played defensive game. I might be the only one that didn't watch the Rams~Chiefs Monday night game this year. And I don't really care for Big 12 football. I'm afraid the NFL will attribute the lower ratings of this game to the lack of scoring and take steps to further the restriction on defenses (of which one consequence would be more penalties) instead of the real reasons.

Where we do agree are the commercials. As a whole, they were putrid. There were a few I didn't even get the point of what they were trying to say or sell. But that doesn't have anything to do with the play on the field.
