The team wouldn't crumble if Owens were released, but cutting him does them absolutely no good.

You want to be a running team? Run the ball WITH Owens and it'll be even more effective because defenses will have to honor the passing game more.

And don't give me that "Oh, but the coachez have to appeeeeeease T.O." BS.
Does anyone here honestly believe Owens would complain if the team were winning? If Deion ran to Owens to ask him why his numbers declined while the team was 10-0 and had emphasized the run a lot more, he'd be able to truly answer with, "well, we run the ball a lot more, so I don't get as many opportunities."

End of story, end of "problem."

Of course, Deion wouldn't be running to him to ask this question because his numbers will only IMPROVE if this becomes a "run to set up the pass" team.

Has PFT ever been right about anything? Seriously.

Their goal, like ESPN's, isn't to be right.

It's for everyone to read (or tune into) their reports and for people to run around the internet talking about their stories.

Bingo. Life would be alot easier if everyone realized this.

You are making my argument easy. You are putting a qualifier on this player's behavior. That is the problem. Owens gets to do or say anything he wants to do or say, and the organization bows.

Why should he be treated any different? Why is he speaking after every game? He shouldn't be "the boss" of this team. Better yet, why should a 9-7 team put up with his eratic behavior. Dallas has plenty of offensive talent. They don't need him to win. I don't need Roy Williams to be "Terrell Owens". I need him to score in the redzone and move the chains.

When things don't go Owens' way or when the ship is taking in water, he runs to the media and blames Garrett or Romo or both. Plus, he gets away with it. He's a horrible example for young players, and he's poison in the locker room. You can't win on a consistent basis with these types of selfish, eratic players. Owens' track record speaks for itself. Where ever he goes, drama follows.

I want winners, not selfish, divas like Terrell Owens that chirp after getting the ball thrown to them 17 or 18 times. His production doesn't make up for the divisive force and disrespectful attitude that he has for players and coaches, including the quarterback.

I see where you wanna go with your post. I understand.

BUT there is no denying that TO is a rags to riches story... in more ways than one. He overcame alot.

He is actually a GREAT example for young kids that dont think they can accomplish something like he did.

Self made WR. Kudos.

Don't know if anyone else posted it, but Galloway and JFE were talking about this today. Both said that a week ago, they never, ever thought Jerry would cut TO.

But now, one said it wouldn't surprise them and one thinks it will happen.

That really surprised me. They didn't go into who they've talked to or what they've learned to make them change their mind.

JFE did say that some higher ups in the organization have told Jerry that TO isn't worth the trouble anymore. All she would say was that it wasn't Wade.

I understand that, but this is about the success of the Dallas Cowboys or 52 other guys, not just him. Plus, he's not a good example with some of his sideline outburts and comments.

Jason Witten had a tough background, too, and if he doesn't get the football in a game or two, you never hear a word. You will never see him act like a selfish player or diva. Owens' behavior is inexcuseable, and the Cowboys look like the laughing stock of the league for putting up with his behavior.

I hope he does get cut. Fix that mess in the lockerroom. It's probably not at TO's fault, but he sure isn't helping either.

I don't think you'll be losing a ton on the field, and I think you will make your team much better with intangibles.

you're right. a WR that takes double coverage every down and sometimes triple coverage with him at times getting cut is losing nothing.

do you seriously know anything about football?

You do know that the Titans have the number one seed in the AFC with:

Justin Gage
Brandon Jones
Justin McCareins
Bo Scaife
Kerry Collins

Dont even bother with him, he is a San Fran fan that has clutched onto TO being his only hope of experiencing glory in the next decade.

Jordan Taber= 49ers fan.

And will probably get thumped by Baltimore this weekend because they can stop the run and that receiving corp will not scare them.

More than Kerry "I should retire" Collins and Justin Gage.

If Tennesee has to rely on their passing game against Ed Reed and that Ravens secondary, they are in big trouble. They better ramp up that running game and that will be hard to do against the Ravens front 7.

I have no idea what you're even trying to say. Qualifier?

And if you honestly think that last statement is true, you're a complete nitwit.

Who says he IS treated any different?

You think he's the boss of the team? :lmao2:

What erratic behavior?

When things don't go Owens' way or when the ship is taking in water, he runs to the media and blames Garrett or Romo or both. Plus, he gets away with it. He's never run to the media and blamed either of them. He did blame Garrett's system for his individual numbers declining, but honestly, who cares?

He's a horrible example for young players all right. I mean, who wants the young players to learn form the hardest working man in professional sports? A self-made athlete who WORKED his way into being a great player. Really, there's no room for that out there.

Chirp? What do you mean by chirp? Talk? That's how I define "chirp." He talks after every single game. So do all of the star players not named Marion Barber.

If you mean "complain," you're flat-out wrong. Owens never complained after the Commanders game about getting the ball.

This is all futile, however; you've been brainwashed to the point of no return by the media.
