Dak is a little bit like Cam Newton. Can win a lot of games, but Cam wasn’t really all that and a bag of chips as QB.
I am not an Rodgers fan, but he is generally accepted as on of the top 5 QBs in the league. If Rodgers can’t carry a team eating up a high percentage of the cap, then it is arguable that Dak would have an even harder time because Dak isn’t polished to the point that Rodgers was in his prime.
At some point the asking price is just too high. You can’t let any player, including your QB hold you hostage.
Having said that, it would have been better it over pay Dak a little bit, than over pay Tank (you could have Griffin for about 2/3 of what Tank is getting and I’m not sure that Grirren wouldn’t be the better player.
Is Amari worth $20 million? The market said “yes” but it was set by the Commanders and what have they won by playing fantasy football??
All of these guys are overpaid, but if I was going to swing and miss, I would have erred toward paying the QB. Having seen that the Cowboys didn’t do that, they may not be as high on Dak as some of us here are.
