Tony Romo has put up plenty of numbers, but he knows one in particular will define him. Until he changes his 1-3 playoff record, the perception that he’s a front-runner or worse will persist. “I’ve said that it’s all about winning,” Romo said, via Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com. “You’re judged as quarterback and coaches on that.…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2305815&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

I hope he's not placing too much pressure on himself.

I hope he placing huge amounts of "discipline" on himself.

It's no secret that the success of this year's team is based on Romo not having to carry the team on his own.

This is so funny. It's becoming comical.

It's no secret that the teams last failures have been due to poor decision making by the QB and poor playcalling by coaches.

It's no secret that running and TOP increase you chances of winning games over throwing ill advised passes. Ie. Like that pass across his body that was INT'd vs Commanders.

Make all the excuses you want for past failures.

Tony has to be mistake free, like Flacco was during his run. It's the only chance we have.

Take the sack or the throw the ball away. Is all Romo has to do. They will be fine.

Oh, and hopefully the other 52 players do their jobs successfully too.. Naww.. Just blame it all on Romo.. It's easier that way. Less names to remember. LOL

Excellent post. Romo's win or go home/playoff stats are simply bad and there isn't a valid excuse. He needs play up to his regular season stats in the playoffs this year to give us a good chance of winning. No, he doesn't have to be perfect, but he just needs to be good. No bonehead decisions.

He simply can't care about his 'reputation.'

He just needs to play the type of football that got him here this season.

Focus on what he needs to do to execute and if you fail to execute on 1 play, don't worry about it because you can recover on future plays.

Exactly right! I've been saying this for years. We need the regular season Romo to show up in the postseason.

Wait, wait, wait - a ******* undrafted FA STILL needs to prove himself? Going from nearly days from being cut from the Cowboys to fading into the abyss, to second string, to taking over for veteran Bledsoe and making the Cowboys relevant again, and people still expect more from him?

Tony Romo has already exceeded expectations set by "scouts" when he came out of college. Still having discipline and wanting a Super Bowl ring is a good thing, obviously, but no one is going to sit here and tell me Romo is a failure if he doesn't bring us trophies. Every single player in this league should be looking at Romo as their idol, as a guy who worked his way to where he's at now - what does he get instead? smart***, underachieving players, dissing and mocking him. We have talking heads telling us he's a choker and should have had a Super Bowl by now.

How about we discuss more about how he got himself to where he's at now? Not only was his talent overlooked, but his work ethic. All these privileged players drafted in the top 10 should look at players like Brady and Romo as examples of how to work to be your best. The dude doesn't have to prove anything to anyone, he's already done enough.

One of his playoff losses came his first year as a starter, I'll go ahead and give him a pass. He turned our season around and got us to the playoffs. The Giants game, you can say whatever you want, he helped put us in a position to win that game and we had two big drops; it happens. He dominated the Eagles, why? Because the entire team showed up! We had a running game and our defense played lights out. The following week, what happened? Our offensive line looked their age, we had no running game, our top 5 defense for some reason got dominated by a 40 year old QB. That was a team collapse, not a Romo collapse.

Remember the games instead of looking at the stats.

Sure, he's very aware of the perceptions out there and the double and triple standards this guy has had to deal with.
He has not hidden from it and does not make a ton of excuses either.
That does not make it right.

I'm more with you than the opposition.

I know it's the nature of quarterback criticism, but Romo certainly has failed to win us any playoff games, but the whole team really hasn't shown up either.

Romo has shown me a lot this year. I wish reporters wouldn't try to get in his head with these questions. But regardless he has to play like he has the entire season. That's the way he will get respect. Play well, win playoff games.

Check back with us and let's see if ANY QB in these playoffs goes mistake free.
You can pick any one you want and I'll bet you any reasonable amount you want.

It's beyond absurd to expect any player to go completely mistake free through an entire playoff run.
If it happens, probably 20 different times good luck had to happen too during that special run.

I'm surprised that you, Red, be one of those that would make such a demand. My guess is that you blamed Romo for the Denver loss last year?

Honestly...if you own all the Cowboys passing Records and you are coming after players named Troy and Roger that have multiple Championships he going to be judged unfairly. That's just the way it is. I hope he can get one...THIS YEAR!!!!

Look. All fluff aside.

Romo has put himself in this position.

So, yes, he has to be close to mistake free as possible. Like that wording better?
