A 30 year old corner getting a big lucrative deal?

Let him walk.
TNew isn't going anywhere. We spent a first on him knowing he would be 30 when he would be ready for a new deal. So this isn't new news to the Cowboy brass.

Wow that is surprising...only 1 year to evaluate a first round rookie? I didn't really want him last year and was glad we didn't draft him but I would snatch him up if the Saints do let him walk.

Yep, if we can't fill our WR needs through the draft or via trade or something, one of these guys would be a very nice fit imo.

true but if he wants to play here he better not be hoping for clements/samuel money

I would love to spend the 1st day of the draft with Stephen Jones, but I'm afraid my head would explode. We are very lucky to have him working for the 'Boys.

I can't imagine being in the Cowboys War Room on draft day. That would be so much fun. Watching Jerry and Stephen work the phones, all the decision making on who to draft.....I'd be like a kid in a candy store.

Actually I had him on my fantasy team and he killed me. But he was a starter and I think his days as a starter are over. With that said, I don't see the problem brining him in on a short contract and see if he can back up Barber.

Not saying he is going to be the same guy he waas 3 years ago at all. But he would be worth a look.

Waste of time and a spot on the team. Dude is soft and finished....

Marion Barber and Chris Canty are both restricted free agents. Terrell Owens and Terrence Newman are entering the final year of their contracts. DeMarcus Ware is almost there too. Don't forget to throw a high profile free agent into the mix this year (a WR via trade) or next.

That is a boat load of cash, and it's the reason I was surprised that Jerry decided to resign Flozell to big money. I think that Jerry senses the team is close, and will try to hold the core together (circa 1993-1998) for as long as he can.

If this team can bring us a few championships in the next 5 years, but puts us back into salary cap hell for some time after, I'm cool with that. You never know if there will be that uncapped year also...

I would love to have Shaun Alexander as a part time RB behind Barber for a year.

Why. They just picked up the guy we ditched so they could ditch Sean.

Thats all I need to see, move on Sean.
