I have finally gotten a chance to watch the Minnesota replay on my DVR, and Jacques Reeves is playing pretty steady. This reminds me of Jaguars Training camp, when Jack Del Rio askes "what does Hugh (Douglass) give us, that a younger player doesn't" ?. Besides the big difference of experience, maybe coaches are hoping for the upside that we mention all the time. I can also see how Miles Austin had a huge game (if not for the penalties) that pushed Jerheme Urban from the squad. Happy Labor Day folks!...and let's get ready for the Giants. Big division game at home to stat the season!! Must win our division games at home!!

Glenn was serviceable but I cant remember the last time he made a play. We need playmakers on the field not over the hill undersized corners who have lost a step.

I agree Dooms. It was surprising none the less just due to what we have left. Maybe the staff sees Reeves and Jones to be at least as good as Glenn. Maybe they were looking at a trade but it feel through. Who knows?

The thing that gets me is how some think that it was a salary cap issue. The Cowboys have over 13mil in cap space so I seriously doubt that was the case.

I don't understand why so many are so down on Reeves. He was considered a good prospect by BP while he was here. He actually started a game or two and did very well. I remember him maning up, I believe, Anquan Boldin and knocking a pass away from him.

I'm really not worried about Reeves, I'm more worried about Newman.

At SD, the 2005 season opener in the end zone. Was that the last play he made? :lmao:

Just kidding Aaron Glenn fans.

Yep-Bill P relied on him TOO much, IMHO, back in '05. Why in the world did Bill let Glenn cover S. Moss in that 1st Skins game, TWICE? And he had a key penalty in that Hawks game that kept their game tying TD drive alive.

This team must be ready to play (and I mean really play) so we can ideally go 8-0 or 7-1 at home. We don't want to get in a situation where we gotta win 6 or 7 road games to make the playoffs. This team was very inconsistent throughout the season in the last several seasons and rarely was able to put together many 3 game winning streaks. Is it because we simply not good enough, poor game planning, too many letdowns or lack of leadership which the team can rally around.

During the preseason games, thoroughly enjoyed our first 2 wins but was very upset with the Texan game. Why did our team play so poorly all around in what supposedly was the "show" game? Given that we saw very little of Wade's 34 for any number of reasons I haven't a clue what to expect against the Giants. I hopeful but admittedly concerned.

When a CB losses his edge, he doesnt get it back by playing less, or in the nickel.

People see young Glenn but really he hasnt been that player since a year before leaving the Jets.

IMO that is one of many examples of BP's unwillingness to make adjustments and it hurt this team through out his tenure here.

he has made a number of key plays, maybe the cut is warranted but your comment has to be hyperbolic, you dont mean to claim he has never made key plays or at least made none this PS or in 06?

I thought Glenn did a good job when Henry went down 2 years ago.

But in all reality-the only reason why he was on the team to begin with was b/c Parcells was relying (too much)on his old vets from his previous teams(i.e. Bledsoe, Vinny T, Keyshawn, etc). Otherwise, he wouldn't have been on this team.

I saw Glen as a solid nickel + Dime corner and if Tnew goes down we are in trouble if it is Reeves or Jones that plays his spot

Glenn was a good player for us for two years--not sure what you've been watching.

I do think this was the year to let him go. I'm not worried about J Reeves stepping in, though I wish we had a high draft pick behind Reeves learning the ropes and ready to go if anything happens to one of the starters.

At some point the other guys on the roster have to justify their spots. I mean my gosh Reeves and Jones have been here what 3 full seasons? If they can't contribute then get them off the team.

I cannot find any evidence that Jacques Reeves has ever started an NFL game.
