Philly - 23 vs Giants - 11 Game Thread

I wonder how all the people that declared Asante was a system cb, not worth the money, overrated, etc feel ab out him now.

That he just had a duck by Eli land in his lap. This time he caught it, unlike in the Super Bowl.

My biggest fear is seeing a Steelers/Giants superbowl become a reality. So I have to <cough...cough...> pull for the eaglets. This would at least help the little birdies from Arizona get home field advantage for the NFC Championship game - I can live with that.

With that said, I can't emphasize enough my desire to NOT see the hated Steelers going for their sixth ring. Without a doubt, this scenario playing out would bother me more than anything else.

Worse would be an Eagles/Steelers SB. I would puke at that matchup.

Seems pretty stupid to say something like this just because he was gift wrapped an INT by Eli.

Yeah, that would be pretty stupid. That's why I'm talking about his season, not one play.

Stop it, you're upsetting the masses

I would pay extra cash for an uncensored field mic in games like these.

***? that should have been 15 yards. whistle blew three times and the Eagles defender pushes the O-lineman down?

His INT against Eli and last week against Jackson were the ultimate gimmies. All he's doing is sitting on routes which is what he did in New England.

That would make Ed Rendell happy. :laugh2:

What are his coverage stats for this season? I don't know.

Yeah. Apparently Philly and Pittsbrgh have extra leeway there.

Eli also saved him in that 1st drive when Samuel jumped a route and got burned by Smith. That possibly would have been a TD if he hits Smith in stride.

Once teams can realize that he sits on routes, he can be easily exploited with the ole' pump fake.

Then you'd be chatting with the biggest eaglets homer this side of Philly because that's how bad it would be for me to have to think of the Steelers reaching that coveted sixth Superbowl Championship.

<shudders thinking about it>

There is another touchy special teams penalty for you. Even the Giants ancient punter is better than what we put on the field this year. Sad.:(

Per nfl.com.....

35 tackles
22 PD's
4 INT's
1 TD
By coverage stats, I mean attempts and completions. INTs doesn't tell you much about a DB, but the 22 PDs is pretty darn good.
