The Eagles are quite flawed like everybody else. This season is wide open. That's why I like our chances if we can get it going.

Eagles are good. They proved that. At 5-1, they deserve to be excited. And their QB has sustained his better play so far this season. All good stuff.

But it's a long year. Things are going to happen, and the divisional games have barely gotten underway.

I think that's a very fair assessment.

In a nutshell, the Cowboys have to get their own act together and then see if they can climb out if this early season hole they've dug for themselves.

Have they played any nfc east teams yet?

2-0.

Beat the Giants at home and beat the Skins in Washington. They have the Skins next Monday night in Philly, I believe.

It would be nice if the Skins put together a game. They could have won the first one in Washington.

We don't tackle better, fix the run defense, and play better at Safety, it won't matter at all. But with 11 games left, so much can happen it's too hard to predict.

This week will tell us a lot about Dallas. Two weeks off, Lee and Hitchens back, against a winless team that thinks it's close. If the defense isn't a lot better this week, we're in trouble for the long haul.

God, if we lose to the niners, it's hard to objectively say we're going to stand much of a chance this season.

It's starting to look like 9 wins with some tiebreakers will probably get you in this year. We need this one

Sometimes this place feels like eagleszone.com

Why is that? For such a losing franchise that gets the rug pulled out from under it as much, if not more than Dallas does in recent years, the Eagles get *so* much envy/love, it's ridiculous.

I think it's because we've got East-coast fans living near NY and PHI who take turns feeling inferior whenever one of those two teams is good. They start to get Stockholm syndrome. For those of us who don't have to put up with that nonsense, it's hard to understand.

The Niners could beat us, though. This game looks like one where they're going to be chomping at the bit to make a statement after being so close and coming up short so many times. They're scrappy, and we're sort of a big fat wounded cow staggering into town with no Elliott and a fan base just ready to turn belly up. We're going to get their best shot the way we did last year, when we were down by two scores before Dak turned it around there right before half time.

I can't even decide if Bowman is a plus or a minus for us in that scenario. He might just be the spark that gets their team to prove the point.

That said, we're a much better team, talent wise. This is a game we should control and win.

"It's a long year"

These 4 words will always be true.

Funnily enough, the Eagles were 4-2 last year against arguably a tougher schedule.

We'll see how the season breaks.

Their fanbase is a funny one (PA resident here). Many of them are MUCH more cynical/ridiculous than we are around here.

Granted, right now they do have tons of fans riding the hype train (can't blame them), but there's still PLENTY who refuse to buy in until they see more. Can't blame them either. Hell, when was the last time Philly even made the playoffs? Or won a playoff game?

People are forgetting that Philly fell apart pretty badly during the back half of last season.

We always talk about "putting away the anointing oil", but plenty of fans and media have already anointed these guys and they haven't won anything this year, or any recent year for that matter.

Just look at GB. Look at what having Lee out did to DAL the last two weeks. Lots and lots of things are going to happen between now and Thanksgiving. It might end up being the Commanders we're all chasing at that point. They look pretty good to me, too.

Eagles are always historically quick to crown themselves. I live in the market and I have heard Super Bowl chatter in October countless times over the last 7 years.

So far, so good for them but it’s not how you start...it’s how you finish. The Eagles could easily be 2-3 if the ball bounced the other way...this league is close.

Except for the Gints, that's pretty much the same with all NFCE teams.

Deadskins think they won the SB in April. EaGirls and the Cowboys think they won it in September. Gints start the season talking about firing their HC.

Come October, Deadskins are talking about the next draft. In November, EaGirls come down to earth and hope other teams collapse. In December, the Cowboys fade and Gints go on a run and make the playoffs.

That's pretty much how it's been past 10 seasons or so it seems.
