Except for the Gints, that's pretty much the same with all NFCE teams.

Deadskins think they won the SB in April. EaGirls and the Cowboys think they won it in September. Gints start the season talking about firing their HC.

Come October, Deadskins are talking about the next draft. In November, EaGirls come down to earth and hope other teams collapse. In December, the Cowboys fade and Gints go on a run and make the playoffs.

That's pretty much how it's been past 10 seasons or so it seems.

Giants have only made the playoffs once in the last 5 years.

It seems like every year the division changes hands but the Eagles usually get out to a hot start.

2014 they’d started 5-1...they were even 9-3 at one point. Last season they were 3-0...can’t forget 2012 where they started 3-1 and finished 4-12.

For those living in the Phila region, an article today's daily News suggests that other than Seattle, NO ONE in the NFC poses a threat to the Eagles. In fact, so happy are the fanbase with Rodger's injury, I think city council is planning the parade. Media is buzzing with the fact that at 5-1 the Eagles are clearly the top dog in the NFC and quite possibly the NFL... Viewed as a complete team with few flaws..

I give them credit for winning the games on the schedule...the close ones....which all good teams end up doing??? Obviously the Eagles are in the drivers seat for the Division, seemingly playoff bound...But as a die hard Dallas fan its tough to swallow how things are breaking their way...Elliott suspension, Rodgers injury, OBJ hurt and AFC seemingly open.....what a bad year to not go 13-3....
Way too early to declare them top of the heap. ...and as I Hawks fan I will say that Seattle needs to pull its head out offensive wise, but there will be other teams that will challenge them. Also remember every team is one QB injury away from going from contenders to pretenders.

2-0.

Beat the Giants at home and beat the Skins in Washington. They have the Skins next Monday night in Philly, I believe.

It would be nice if the Skins put together a game. They could have won the first one in Washington.

Weird that both Philly-Wash games are 4 weeks before we even play them once.

I think our team is seriously flawed, but something tells me the division will come down to week 17. A man can dream, right?

They better be 5-1 with all that talent playing a 4th place schedule. Kind of like Dallas last season.

Refresh my memory. Didn't the Eagles get off to a hot start last year, and then implode?

Yes I know about the Gints and we didn't fade last year. I was just joking about how most NFCE teams/fans think they won the SB early once they start out fast. All but the Gints who start the season talking about getting rid of their HC and GM.

I will trade you Zeke and Zack Martin for Wagner and Earl Thomas.

We'll meet you in the NFCCG.

You in, or what?

According to Football Outsiders, their schedule to date is 18th. Not good..............

Until you see ours is ranked 20th and we are 2-3 against an slightly easier slate.

FWIW, the Giants schedule to date is 7th and the Skins schedule to date is 1st.

Further good news. According to Football Outsiders, the Eagles have the 22nd hardest schedule remaining. The Cowboys? The 2nd hardest.

They were 4-2 after six games last year.

Didn't they only win one or two more after that? Didn't Wentz start off pretty hot "for a rookie" and then come crashing down to Earth? Wouldn't be surprising if it happens again.

Philly's front 7 allows them to keep games close, or in cases like their game vs. AZ, get out to a big lead and then play downhill. They haven't had to come from behind for a TD yet, but they might not have to. They're one of the healthiest teams, and they're gaining confidence and banking wins. There's no question they're currently the favorite in the NFCE, and maybe the entire NFC. However, it's mid-October. Sooooo much can happen and will happen. They may very well be a 12 win team, but right now it's too soon to crown or count out anyone.

I doubt the Eagles are going to win at the current pace. They won't go 15-1, that's for sure. But expecting this team to just implode like last year's would be foolish IMO. They had some really big holes last year - no WRs, no running game, awful CBs and despite a good front four, they had issues pressuring QBs later in the year.

They have real WRs this year, they've shown they can run the ball much better thus far, their CBs are still weak IMO but with Darby, it's better than last year's crap they had (including everyone's favorite, Nolan Carroll) and they are better at getting after the QB this year (Jernigan at DT has been a big improvement on Bennie Logan who was more a run stuffing DT).

If the Cowboys want to win the division, they are going to have to go on a big run because expecting the Eagles to spit the bit and go from 5-1 to 9-7 would be some real wishful thinking IMO.

We don't tackle better, fix the run defense, and play better at Safety, it won't matter at all. But with 11 games left, so much can happen it's too hard to predict.

This week will tell us a lot about Dallas. Two weeks off, Lee and Hitchens back, against a winless team that thinks it's close. If the defense isn't a lot better this week, we're in trouble for the long haul.

I'm kind of yes and no on that. Almost feeling like it's a no-win situation. Even if Dallas is victorious, they beat a winless team. I think it will take more than this one game to see true progress or to restore lost faith.

It might be a start, but a small step just the same.

I think they need a quality win or two to get back in any conversations. Just my opinion anyway.

Just look at GB. Look at what having Lee out did to DAL the last two weeks. Lots and lots of things are going to happen between now and Thanksgiving. It might end up being the Commanders we're all chasing at that point. They look pretty good to me, too.

Same here. Right now it looks like we've got two good teams to deal with if we have any hopes of a playoff spot at all, much less the division.

I think it would be a real long shot to expect three teams, including both wild cards, out of the NFC East.

Biggest difference with the Eagles this year versus last year is their defensive play.

They were awful, especially in pass defense last year. This year, they improved the line with Jernigan and have got some timely play from the newcomers in the secondary that allowed them to overcome losing even Darby.

They are in the driver's seat for the division, but I can't say they are the class of the conference right now. I don't think anyone has stepped forward as that, and especially now Rodgers is out, it is even more cloudy.

What scares me a bit is that the Eagle's defense has not yet played a game at full strength. They've had as many as five starters out for a few games and still win.
