For those living in the Phila region, an article today's daily News suggests that other than Seattle, NO ONE in the NFC poses a threat to the Eagles. In fact, so happy are the fanbase with Rodger's injury, I think city council is planning the parade. Media is buzzing with the fact that at 5-1 the Eagles are clearly the top dog in the NFC and quite possibly the NFL... Viewed as a complete team with few flaws..

I give them credit for winning the games on the schedule...the close ones....which all good teams end up doing??? Obviously the Eagles are in the drivers seat for the Division, seemingly playoff bound...But as a die hard Dallas fan its tough to swallow how things are breaking their way...Elliott suspension, Rodgers injury, OBJ hurt and AFC seemingly open.....what a bad year to not go 13-3....
I seem to remember in 2014 we overtook them down 2 games with 4 to play.

So it ain't over yet.

Put the THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD plaquards down.

Its only the end of October coming.

Last season we gave ourselves the NFC half way through the season only to get bounced per usual. We can only hope that happens to the Eagles

Eagles about to go 13-3 and loose to the 9-7 Cowboys in the NFC championship game.
There’s only 5 teams in the NFC that are currently below .500. 9 wins won’t cut it this year. I think the Eagles missed the playoffs a few years ago @ 10-6. That may happen to a team this year.

All fanbases are the same. You get out to a hot start and you start talking **** and thinking you're indestructible.

Last year when you guys beat the Packers to go 5-1, y'all were dancing in the streets with your chests puffed out. When you beat the Steelers, you had your super bowl tickets being printed.

Eagles lead the league in TOP and 3rd down percentage. I can't predict the future but those numbers should come down a bit. Get a lead and their game plan is shot.

Kind of like playing the Cowboys, you must get and maintain a lead.

I'll keep this simple:

The Eagles got hot at the wrong time....just like the Cowboys got hot at the wrong time last year, in 2014, in 2009 and in 2007. I don't know who will represent the NFC, but someone will emerge soon and the Eagles will likely fizzle out towards the end, coasting their way to a likely playoff berth. Then, they will get knocked out.

I fully understand that the odds have my back on this, so I'm not really stepping out on a limb. But for those of you who are standing on the ledge at the prospect of a Philly Superbowl (finally), based on historical precedence, they simply got hot way too soon.

I hear what you're saying with this. Obviously you want your team peaking in Dec and into Jan. But it's not as if they are hot in the sense that they are blowing teams away. They've only had one blow-out win. What they are doing is winning the close games...and road games (3-1 away so far). This is not unlike the Cowboys last year. The Cowboys won 7 of their 13 games by a TD or less. They weren't destroying teams. It's a matter of maintaining the discipline and the confidence that you're never out of a game. That is more sustainable in my opinion. Confidence can be contagious. We'll see

I've watched them play a few games myself. I like Wentz. I think he will be a good to great quarterback for a very long time. But I'm not as confident as you are that what they are presently doing is sustainable. I suspect things are going to get very interesting down the stretch and I would not count out the Cowboys at all. In my opinion, the Cowboys offense is a sleeping giant that could wake up at any time, while the defense has alot of potential to ascend, as well. Youth and injuries have plagued that unit in the early going, but as they get healthy, and the youngsters earn more snaps, I could see the Cowboys being a team that get's hot at the right time this go around. We as a fanbase just have to hope that the games they let slip away late don't bite them in the end.

I don't count out the Cowboys, but I don't think their offense is a sleeping giant at all. Sure they need to fix a few things, but they have been quite awake already. It's the defense that holds them back. Sean Lee is a terrific player, but besides him there isn't much that threatens offenses.

The Cowboys offense has played well, but not up to their potential. We really haven't seen them fire on all cylinders for four quarters yet. Perhaps this doesn't apply to you, but I think people underestimate how much the Cowboys missed Sean Lee the last two games. Not only is he a heat-seeking missile in run coverage, but he's also the brains of that unit. In his stead, the Cowboys were relying on what is at the moment a hobbled rookie (Jaylon) to fill that role. The Cowboys defense is much better than what people give them credit for, but like the offense, they have yet to put it all together for four quarters thus far, for the exception of the game against the Giants who are offensively inept this year. Heath's play has certainly been disconcerting, but I think once we get everyone healthy and back up to speed, this team could be dominant in all three phases down the stretch.

Agree...much like Luke Kuechly in Carolina. Losing the leader on D is huge. That said, I don't think the Cowboys D can be dominant even with him. More effective, certainly. If I were JJ, I would draft defense almost exclusively this spring.

Well, I'm sure they have a few upgrades in mind on the defensive side of the ball for the offseason, but I think the Cowboys can win with what they have potential to be. DLaw has been dominant in splashes. DIrving has proven he can be, as well. Jourdan Lewis keeps getting better and better. And, eventually, Jaylon will ascend. Saying they could dominate might be a bit strong, but good enough to win a championship, is what I mean. To be clear, I'm not even saying the Cowboys will make the playoffs. I just think they have enough talent to bridge that gap.
