Thank you Dallas Cowboys
It was reported yesterday that Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a deal guaranteeing him $31 million of a six-year deal. Thank you Dallas for handing over any opportunity you had of winning the NFC for the next six-years.

I am so tired of this ridiculous love affair the networks have with “Romo” whenever a Dallas Cowboy game is on television. “He’s fun to watch.” So was Michael Vick but other than fantasy points and video games did he win the big one? Well unless you count winning jail time as a possibility, no. Teams were catching up to Vick and teams are also catching up to Tony Romo.

The game is out on Tony Romo. Romo starts off hot and teams catch up to him throughout the season. Take a look at 2006, his first season with the Cowboys as a starting quarter back he went 6-6 with a playoff appearance that will go down in history for all of the wrong reasons. Did you hear that Cowboys fans, 6-6!

This season Romo has gone 6-1 which is exceptional and leads the division. However, look at the passing defenses that Romo has beaten? He beat a Giants defense in disarray, a Vikings defense that even made Reggie Brown look good, a Bills defense that can barely stop Chad Pennington, a Miami defense that hasn’t shown up all season, and a Chicago defense that looks more like the 1997 Bears than the 2007 Bears. Newsflash – he is overrated!

Watch Romo’s game from a mechanical standpoint. His throws are erratic, he makes terrible decisions, and more often than not is bailed out by a great core of receivers and good running game. When has Tony Romo won the Cowboys an important game? Anyone? Beuler, Beuler?

Enough crowing about the Super Bowls you won in the nineties. Take your shots at Donovan McNabb all that you want but you crumbs would take him in a heartbeat if he was available. The same way you sold soul to the Devil himself, Mr. Terrell Owens.

The bottom line is if you want a quarterback that will turn out to be the most over-hyped sensation in years leading your team, well Cowboy fans you got him. Good luck with the next six-years. Hey, at least you have Wade Phillips coaching the team. Doh!

He didn't look that bad against N.E.

Sounds like someone is jealous they couldn't ever get the big one with their boy McNabb.

I smell fear.

No! What you smell is this author's utter jealousy of seeing what Romo is accomplishing and knowing that the Dallas Cowboys are soon taking over the NFCE for a while. He know's Mcnabb probably won't be there in a year or 2. Then it's rebuild all over again. It may be w/ that new QB they got this year, or may be not.

The talk of us possibly being in the SB already this year w/ Romo could be disheartening to many.

It was not that long ago that Dallas pretty much ruled the East and people don't forget those kind of beatings so easily.

So it's hip to take these pot shots from those who really wish they had a Romo. I mean think about. What does Philly have to look forward to after Mcnabb? What did they do w/ Mcnabb there? Absofreakinlutely NOTHING.

Embrace the hate !!

This is the most idiotic comparison I have ever seen... I just don't know what to say...

On a side note... They are very lucky that McNabb won the "big one" for them...

Oh wait...

The level of inaccuracy within this article is mindboggling.

First, Tony Romo was 6-5, not 6-6, as a starter last year.

Second, thus far in his career, Romo has completed 64.2 percent of his passes, thrown for 4,887 yards at 8.5 yards per attempt, tossed 35 TDs to 22 INTs, and posted a rating of 95.3. These numbers are certainly not indicative or "erratic" play or "terrible decision making." His interception total is a trifle high, but he's only just completed his first season as a starter. Furthermore, Romo has received ringing endorsements from both Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach, neither of whom is prone to lavish praise.

Third, why on earth would I trade Tony Romo for a QB who has surpassed 30 years of age, has a losing record since 2005, and hasn't completed a season healthy in three years?

AT LEAST WHEN THE PRESSURE IS ON, ROMO DOESNT START PUKING ALL OVER HIMSELF!!!

His/her/it's math is not very good. Romo was 6-4 last year.

I see he hates to acknowledge 12-5 overall.

I'm too lazy to look it up. What are NcNabb's stats over the last 17 games of his career...

Spin doctor.

So many of these guys aren't really that neurotic. They make it a practice to write what is appealing to their audience. If people like what they hear, they will endorse the writter.

The problem isn't the writter, it's with the neurotic fans who will do anything to look for an excuse. I'm sure they loved this article. It excused reality.

What the Philly fans need to do is stop believing the BS writters are trying to sell, and simply go to the local package store and by a fifth. That or smoke a big one for McNabb.

Wait a minute......I think I just described the average Philly fan.:D

Yeah, he got figured out last year after 6 games, and...uh..it'll take another 7 games for teams to figure him out again? I didn't know he had an alter ego, otherwise maybe teams would take what they learned last year and be kicking his a** this year. Well, wake me up when teams have got him "figured out", that should be right around February 2008. Thanks

it is amazing how everyone forgets that this is still the NFL. I guess he forgot that in Tony's first start last year he went on the road into Carolina and we crushed them. I find it funny how before the game everyone talks about the fact that the Cowboys cannot beat a team, then after we destroy them they say "well that team was not any good"..like the Rams top 3 passing defense before we beat them...or the defending NFC champs da Bears before we beat them...or the fact that know has come close to beating the Pats..but we were the closes until the game got away from us in the 4th. I don't even think we have played our best ball.....we are in a no win situation...if we beat the Eagles, everyone will say "heck they were just 3-4"
