Physical talent does not equal mental talent

We have what is probably the most talented team in the NFL from a PHYSICAL point of view. Size, strength, speed and quickness.

BUT we have at best an average team as regards MENTAL talent.

Discipline.
football intelligence.
Focus.

We need a HC and staff that is very detail oriented and very disciplinarian. A kind of coach and staff that will have the team out until dark working on plays until they get it right. A kind of coach and staff that will make players run laps when they screw up. A kind of coach and staff that the players both respect and FEAR.
IF we get that kind of coach and staff this team can win. Without it you see what we have now.

I don't necessarily agree with the assertion about physical talent. I agree we are a physically telented team, and probably physically talented enough to win it all if everything were to fall in plae (which is not going to happeen), but I think people overestimate the talent and often assume there is more talent than there is due to buying into the hype.

Still, I agree with your basic idea, that being physically talented does not translate into mental readiness to play. We get too many penalties, make dumb mistakes, and there is confusion on the field at times. The coaches are either not preparing the team or the team doesn't have the mental ability they need. Maybe it's both.

The O line could do a better job if the offense was designed to take advantage of its strengths and avoid its weaknesses. Just like the rest of the O. By physical talent I mean just that: and I do think there is no team more talented OVERALL then we are.
